More RINOs Jumping aboard Crist's "Screw Conservatism Express"

Hola gente, just reporting back to discuss the GOP Senate primary race here in Florida, which looks to be heating up.

Apparently last week was the deadline for the fundraising quarter. La verdad que I really don't keep up with the fundraising aspect of politics, because I'm not a money man. Pero it seems that a lot of opportunistic, philosophically disloyal participants in the political process look at the amount of money one candidate has raised over the other and that makes them decide who to support and give money to.

Of course, Carlitos Crist is going to win that battle against Marco Rubio. After all, Crist is a sitting governor who has the power of his office to continue to influence policy for almost the next two years. Every vulture who has to do business with the state or have laws signed or vetoed by Crist and want to be on his good side will probably contribute to his campaign. That gives Crist a huge, unfair, and possibly even unethical advantage over Rubio.

Another fundraising advantage Crist enjoys, as we previously wrote, is the full support of the idiots running the RINOPF (my nickname for the once-great Florida Republican Party now that Jim Greer destroyed it at the behest of Crist) and the National Republican Senatorial Committee, which out of consistency we will henceforth refer to as the NRINOSC.

As we at Versailles Beat long predicted and expected, today we can add another two names to that long list of Crist RINO supporters. The Diaz-Balart brothers endorsed Charlie Crist for US Senate against a fellow Cuban-American and true conservative Marco Rubio.

The Diaz-Balarts have disappointed us time and time again, and aside from their pattern of endorsing RINOs over real Republicans, this latest endorsement came as no surprise to us for a few reasons.

First, Crist and Mario Diaz-Balart both served together back when Mario, despite having earned no college degree, was elected to the Florida Senate on his father and older brother's name. Crist and he have remained friends and political allies ever since.

Secondly, failed Miami-Dade Republican Party chairman candidate and one of Versailles Beat's most popular targets, Carlos Curbelo, continues to tie the Diaz-Balarts to Charlie Crist.

The arab-looking Carlos Curbelo started in politcs through the Diaz-Balart machine. He fundraises for them, runs their campaigns, and is their attack dog and confidante. As we reported here a few months ago, Jim Greer hired Curbelo to run the RINOPF's hispanic outreach. We exposed that as nothing more than an effort by Jim Greer and his RINOPF lapdogs to steer Hispanic Republican support away from Rubio to Crist. Porque? Because Carlos Curbelo is a solid Crist loyalist who ran the Crist campaign in 2006 here in Miami. He ran the McCain campaign last year, and was one of the countless Crist stooges who sat on his hands after Crist was passed up for Sara Palin. To his credit, Curbelo has decent political instincts and has carved himself a nitch among the Cuban viejos by maintaining good relationships with personalities on Cuban radio, which is a political force to be reckoned with down here.

Of course the idea was that he would go on those radio shows and political events to tacitly promote Crist to the overwhelmingly Republican Cuban viejos to steer support away from Rubio. Listeners and and radio hosts would perceive him to be "official," legitimized by his title as RINOPF Hispanic Outreach Director.

Our sources have indicated that Curbelo has had ambitions to run for office for years. 2010 will be an unusually active political year here in Miami with the opening of several seats in the House and Senate, not to mention the statewide races. Our sources have told us that he was after the seat being vacated by State Representative Anitere Flores in her bid for State Senate. Unfortunately for Curbelo, however, current school board member and jeva Ana Rivas Logan has also indicated an interest in that seat, which would no doubt spell defeat for Curbelo should he try his luck against the very attractive and well-known Rivas-Logan. Therefore, we at Versailles Beat predict that if Rivas-Logan resigns to run for the Legislature, Crist will appoint Curbelo to fill the vacancy on the school board.

But back to the US Senate Race.

It seems our other Republican congresista Ileana Ros-Lehtinen may not jump on the Crist bandwagon as easily. First of all, she endorsed Crist's primary opponent Tom Gallagher in 2006, and since then has never really publicly expressed much affection for Crist, Greer, or the RINOs that feed off them. Also, her husband Dexter Lehtinen is very publicly supporting Rubio. I could not imagine them being on opposite sides in this race, so we at Versailles Beat hope it is only a matter of time before she publicly endorses Rubio. If she remains neutral or otherwise fails to endorse Rubio, we would consider it an act of cowardice. Let's hope she is the courageous "loba feroz" that we have always admired her to be.

Despite the list of RINOs stacking up behind Crist and the money they are generating for him, Rubio appears to be doing well according to recent polls. He is also traveling all over the state with his positive message of patriotism, conservatism, and liberty. The more Republicans hear him and contrast his message against the do-nothing RINO politician Crist, the more they will support him. I've attached a video clip of a tea party that Rubio spoke at this past 4th of July, which begs the question, where was Crist this 4th of July? Why has he not made an appearance at any Tea Party? Why? Because they'll boo him off the stage for the Obama-loving RINO that he is.

More Republicans Mobilize to defeat a Real Republican -- Versailles Beat launches "Recall Jim Greer" Campaign

Bueno caballero, unfortunately we do not only have traitors in the Republican Party here in Florida. It would seem they extend all the way to the national level.

As expected, “Carlitos” Crist, who reminds me of the creepy grinning middle-aged single uncle I had back in Cuba, announced his intention to again jump to yet another political office and run for the United States Senate. Apparently he wants to get the hell out of Florida before all the effects of his idiotic populist policies materialize, and leave that cagazon to the next governor. Some names that have been mentioned as likely successors are the current Democrat Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink and Republicans Attorney General Bill McCollum and Agriculture Commissioner Charles Bronson.

At this point, I could care less who among those names winds up being the next governor, since any one of them would be a huge improvement from the liberal tanned fairy that we have now.
Pero back to the Republican traitors.

This week, the National Republican Senatorial Committee and its chairman, the usually-respectable John Cornyn, publicly endorsed the non-Republican in Florida’s Republican Primary election for US Senate. In an action that will undoubtedly prolong his minority status, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell also jumped on board with Crist.

Apparently these fools are more concerned with having any idiot with an “R” next to his name win the general election, even if it means electing someone who will vote with the “Ds” time after time. Their support of Arlen Specter over a real Republican in Pennsylvania’s primary in 2004 and again in 2010 (until a few weeks ago) apparently was not lesson enough for these elitists.

Also jumping to Charlie Crist’s support is el Republicano flojo y Cubano-cuando-le-conviene Mel Martinez. Any of our regular readers should be completely unsurprised by this development, as Mel Martinez is also nothing more than a do-nothing moderate RINO who is almost as bad as the fool he wants to succeed him in the Senate. His support for RINO policies and his extremely thin Senate resume has earned him pathetically low poll numbers from Floridians, which is the real reason he's not seeking reelection. One can only wonder why many of those same Floridians who dislike Martinez would be considering someone who’s even more RINO and more do-nothing to replace him.

This may be of no significance to some, but it is to me and should be to others. The fact that Martinez—a Cuban, allegedly—is not supporting Rubio is outrageous. Again, I don’t approve of supporting someone just because he is Cuban, but Rubio is an accomplished, conservative Republican Cuban who would make our community and Florida proud should he make it to the Senate. As far as Mel Martinez is concerned: al carajo and good riddance to him.

But this Cuban issue also goes further. As the Miami Herald's Myriam Marquez reports, Republican party leaders relentlessly stress the importance of a “big tent” party where minorities and young people will feel welcome. Well, they’re not making a solidly accomplished, articulate, young Republican minority feel welcome by backstabbing him and his loyalty to the party in their support of a middle-aged white-haired artificially-tanned white RINO, are they? Ridiculous. It’s a good thing Rubio is a bigger man than all of them combined, otherwise he could have easily cried racism like the pencil-necked liberals always do.

As previously reported by us here in the Versailles Beat, Carlos Curbelo was recently hired by the Republican Party of Florida, which henceforth we will call the RINO Party of Florida, to do exactly what we said he'd do: be the RINOPF's Hispanic outreach director for the sole purpose of mobilizing the party's hispanic members against Rubio. This was confirmed today when he whined that Rubio mobilized against him when he challenged Rubio's friend David Rivera for the chairmanship of the local party. The problem is, however, that Rubio was not a party official at the time. Yes, he was a state representative, but he was neither the chairman nor state committeeman of the party when he decided to take sides in the race for chairman between Curbelo and Rivera. Curbelo is really grasping for straws when he makes that ridiculous accusation. Had Rubio been the chairman of the party and utilized that position to endorse in a primary, we would be the first to condemn him, but he was not. Curbelo needs to get over his loss.

And that brings me to us here in Florida.

Unfortunately, my friends, we can’t do anything about those traitors at the national level, but we sure can do something about them here in our state. As I previously reported, Charlie’s hand-picked chairman of the newly renamed RINOPF—the fat, repugnant, narcissistic megalomaniac Jim Greer—has endorsed Crist and is mobilizing to use the RINOPF against the real Republican in the Senate race, Marco Rubio. He apparently thinks that just because he’s chairman, he can break with decades of tradition and openly use his title in the party to sway a Republican primary election.

His abuse of the RINOPF is nothing new. Jim Greer needed to be recalled almost immediately after taking over the chairmanship for his avaricious self-pampering and gluttony at the party’s expense. That’s not my problem since I’m not on the committee that oversees his behavior. But as Florida Republicans, we should not sit by as this guy destroys our party and our movement as he irresponsibly uses the RINOPF like a Charlie Crist fan club. Jim Greer is out of control, and someone needs to put a stop to it immediately.

That is why I am pleased to announce that we at Versailles Beat will soon be kicking off a grassroots campaign to recall Jim Greer. This will be a full-scale campaign to urge members of the RINOPF committee to recall Greer. More on that to come very soon.

We will continue reporting on this and other races and issues, as we have always done, however, this particular Senate race is shaping up to be a battle for the heart and soul of the Republican Party—a battle between real Republicans who believe in our founding principles, and parasitic liberal politicians who latch on to the Republican name to win elections for themselves and their cohorts.

UPDATE 5/14/09

We are officially launching the "Recall Jim Greer" Campaign in facebook. Click on the icon below, and this will direct you to the facebook group. You are free to leave comments, but be sure to join the group so that we may compile the list of members and send it to the individual members of the RINOPF committee that oversees Greer. Let them know that if they continue supporting this guy and his irresponsible use of his title, that we will not support them next time they run for the RINOPF committee.

Marco Rubio Running for U.S. Senate

Bueno mis queridos amigos, last night I saw on el canal 23 that a man whose career I've been following for a few years now with pride announced his intention to run for the U.S. Senate.

Marco Rubio, who is a real Republican and straight-shooter, is not afraid to properly, but eloquently express the principles that guide him. Those are the principles that also founded this great nation that is now my adoptive home. Conservative principles.

This last election we reluctantly decided to back John McCain because we feared an Obama presidency. We decided to support the lesser of two evils. That is not the case in our support of Mr. Rubio.

Back in July we at Versailles beat committed ourselves to supporting former Rep. Rubio for any political office he may decide to pursue. We came to this decision not because he's Cuban (we have lots of idiot Cubans in office whom I personally cant' stand and that we have criticized around here). We support him because he proved to us that he's tough, sticks to his word, pursues the right policies, and is overall a man of conviction, principle, and loyalty. In short, he is not Charlie Crist. In fact, those qualities make him the exact opposite of Crist.

Now, Charlie Crist may decide to also run for the Senate, and that's only because he's nothing more than a political opportunist who's running for the next title. He also wants to get out of Florida before the consequences of his political misfeasance materialize in what most of us Cubans would call una tremenda cagazon here in Florida.

Pero I will not focus on that zero to the left today, because today, my friends, is a good day. Today marks the day that we start to take back our party from the likes of Crist, Greer, and all the unprincipled opportunist politicians in our state who use our party for their own gain.

With that said, these parasites that feed off our party will stop at nothing to defeat him in the primary, as will the socialists in the Democrat party who do not want to see a minority who is a young, energetic, well-spoken conservative call them out on their treachery. I encourage you to help the Rubio campaign by donating your time or money. His website is http://www.marcorubio.com/.

Bueno mi gente, I leave you with the video of Mr. Rubio's announcement:

Sarvelio del Valle: RIP, Que en Paz Descanse

Hola my dear readers y amigos. I have been gone lately porque I've been traveling with Juana back and forth to our house in Costa Rica where I get away from the jodedera in Miami and relax.

Upon my return, I was very saddened to receive a message on my answering machine from my friend Armando Perez Roura notifying me of the death of Sarvelio del Valle, a Cuban legend, una gloria de nuestra patria, who was also known as La Voz--the VOICE--of the Florida Marlins.

Sarvelio was born in Las Villas, Cuba in 1924, and at an early age began broadcasting in Cuba. Because of the wretched dictator who dessimated my country, Sarvelio left Cuba in 1962 and moved to Puerto Rico. In 1970, he came to Miami and continued his sportscasting career with Armando Perez Roura.

During his time here in Miami, he covered the Miami Heat, and later the Florida Marlins when they were established as a Major League team. He became the official voice of the Marlins, but aside from that, was always a patriot who loved both his homeland and his adopted land.

And this leads me from a great patriot to someone whom we have criticized on this blog: Italo Zanzi.

Zanzi, as has been reported here before, worked for Major League Baseball and shamelessly traveled to Cuba to make agreements with the Castro regime. Zanzi was also working with Major League Baseball when they declined Livan Hernandez and other exiled baseball players' request to form a Cuban team in exile.

Shame on him, and shame on those Cubans who are supporting Zanzi for state representative here in Miami, including Rep. Julio Robaina and Armando Gutierrez, and the ungrateful Colombian Rep. Juan Carlos Zapata, whose candidacy the Cuban exile community has supported time after time.

The Republican Party of Florida Mobilizes to Defeat a Real Republican

Those of you who read us regularly know that Jim Greer, the current chairman of the once-respected Republican Party of Florida, is not liked by us here at the Versailles Beat. The reason is very simple: he's nothing but a lap dog for the ultra liberal traitor and pseudo-Republican governor, Charles "Charlie" Crist.

Jim Greer, who according to our sources, had never served a day in his life as a member of the Republican Party committee, was recruited by Charlie's hacks back in 2006 to serve as chairman of the party for the sole purpose of sugar-coating and covering for the newly-elected governor's upcoming anti-Republican treachery. Since then, Charlie Crist has proven to be the most liberal governor to ever mislead Florida, even when counted among past Democrat governors, and all along the way, Greer has used the party to cover and even legitimize Crist's many liberal, anti-Republican policies, rhetoric, and political alliances, of which there are too many to list right now (don't worry, I'll compile a list at the appropriate time).

Essentially, the RPF, once one of the most respected party organizations in the country, is now nothing more than a spin machine for this governor. Their goal since Greer's election in 2007 is no longer to promote Republican principles, recruit and help Republican candidates get elected, and raise money for them, but rather to promote, protect, and defend the politician Crist and his actions to the Republican base.

Asi que ya que me quite eso de arriba, we at the Versailles Beat applaud Marco Rubio's decision to run for the U.S. Senate to replace el Republicano flojo de Mel Martinez. He has even announced that he will pursue the Senate seat even if Crist runs for it, too. Good for him.

But back to the RPF.

Greer recently announced that he is hiring Diaz-Balart fundraiser-for-hire and former candidate for Miami-Dade Republican Party Chair Carlos Curbelo to head the RPF's Hispanic outreach.

To his credit, the Arab-looking Curbelo represents his clients well on the radio, and is generally well-spoken in both Spanish and English. Pero, Greer's choice of Curbelo was based not only on his talents, but on a desire to protect Crist by defeating Rubio in the US Senate Republican primary.

Obviously, in a race between Rubio and Crist, Rubio will garner most of the Hispanic Republican vote, which much to LULAC and La Raza's dismay, is a potent force here in Florida. This is why Greer needs a seasoned Hispanic spinmeister who not only will be good at what he does for the party's sake, but also someone whose allegiances are to Crist so that he can help thwart Rubio's candidacy in the Republican Hispanic community. Remember, Curbelo ran Crist's last race in Miami-Dade County, so Greer wants him to do the same for the RPF on behalf of Crist at the statewide level.

The theory that Crist, Greer, and the rest of their cohorts are nervous about a Rubio-Crist showdown was proven recently when Greer himself publicly stated that Rubio should not challenge Crist for the U.S. Senate.

Isn't the chairman supposed to remain neutral and stay out of primary contests? His irresponsible actions demonstrate what a puppet Greer really is.

All this leads us to conclude that the RPF is gearing up to battle Marco Rubio. Rubio is a real Republican and the total opposite of these falsantes. It's just another example that with Crist and Greer, the RPF headquarters remains off limits to real Republicans.

UPDATE 4/28/2009
The latest act of treason by the so-called "moderate" RINO Senator from Pennsylvania Arlen Specter proves just how important it is for Republicans to come together and reject liberals mascarading as Republicans during primary elections. Today, Specter announced that he was switching parties from Republican to Democrat. Well, I say, "good riddance y que se vaya al carajo."

But here's the lesson for us: Specter had a solid Republican put up a strong challenge during Specter's last primary election, but unfortunately Specter won out. Let today's switch to the Democrat Party by Specter be an "I told you so" to those idiot Republicans who voted for him during their last primary.

And let it be a lesson to us here in Florida, too. Remember, both Specter and Crist supported the Obama "stimulus" plan, and continue to do so. The last thing we want here is to elect another Arlen Specter in Charlie Crist. And believe me, there are many more reasons they are alike other than the support for Obama's stimulus.
Also, a GREAT article on Jim Greer appeared today at this other site. I encourage those of you who want to know about el tipejo este to read it here.

Danny Glover and the CBC: African-American Communists

I have been medio jodido lately so I haven't had the opportunity to post much. Many things have happened these past few weeks, so here are a few things I've wanted to discuss en estos dias:

First, this video is of the wretched miscreant who goes by the name Danny Glover. He is the anti-american black actor who loves communism and every anti-american banana republic dictator he can get his filthy hands on. Mr. Glover es un mierda, he has benefited from the very capitalist system he condemns, making millions off acting--bad acting, I should add.

How much do the actors in his beloved Cuba and Venezuela make? They're not even allowed to leave the country without government approval, and then Glover runs to every rat-infested backwater tyranny to applaud lectures about how horrible this country is from dictators.

Now to the Congressional Black Caucus, or the CBC. This group of seditious pieces of crap decided years ago to racially segregate themselves by forming a group in congress whose only qualification for membership is being black. We at Versailles Beat condemn any sort of racial segregation, whether it be by force or by will. Pero either way, this CBC group is nothing but a collection of anti-american communist malcontents who are elected year after year by lying to their constituents.

One of the CBC members, Bobby Rush, was a member of the terrorist black panther party, which received funds from the Castro government to commit acts of terrorism on American soil. Cuba today serves as a safe haven for former black panther terrorist fugitives. This piece of excrement who sits there making decisions for the whole country swears allegiance on the very Constitution he pisses on every time he is reelected to congress.

So, is it any surprise that this collection of anti-american communist traitors went to Havana recently and heeped praise on the murderous, drug-trafficking, megalomaniacal totalitarian tyrant of Cuba? Absolutely not.

Why didn't these so-called "statesmen" request meetings with the hundreds of dissidents who are persecuted daily? Why didn't they request to meet with the hundreds of political prisoners rotting in Cuban gulags? Why didn't they demand democratic reforms to Cuban policies instead of coming back to the United States and demanding reforms to OUR policies toward Cuba?

Why? Because in their heart of hearts they hate this country and they love and defend anyone else who hates this country, such as Castro.
We at Versailles Beat call it as it is. They are what they are: Mierda. Traitors.

Playahata.com: Just Another Communist Hip Hop Website

Tremendo Hijo de perras are the writers at playahata.com.
El sobrinito mio, Diosdado, loves the Cuban rap artist Pitbull. He especially loves Pitbull's songs "ya se acabo," which bashes the Castro regime. We at the Versailles Beat aren't fans of Pitbull's style of music, but we commend him for taking a stance against the regime.

So when Diosdado types in a Pitbull google search, the search yields an article on playahata.com titled Man Bites Dog: Pitbull and the Rhetoric of Ignorance written by a so-called "Ooh Papi," a Puerto Rican hip hop writer. For the sake of this post, we will assume that "Puerto Rican hip hop writers" actually do exist, although probably in some underground world whose existence the rest of us are not aware of. (more on this HP here).

This Ooh Papi, whom we will unaffectionately call "Oh Sapingo," attacks pitbull for appropriately calling Che and Fidel murderers, and Oh Sapingo actually states that Fidel has made some truly magnificent accomplishments for an island so small and poor.

This coming from a Nuyorican, who's own country Puerto Rico has been terrorized by Castro henchmen, the "macheteros." Oh Sapingo was probably one of the idiots who voted for Hillary during he NY Senate Campaign just because Bill pardoned Puerto Rican machetero terrorists, the same terrorists who have repeatedly attacked US citizens and have clear ties to the Terrorist Castro Regime.

Oh Sapingo is just another ignorant and mislead rapero whose claim to fame is attacking pro freedom rappers who actually know a thing or two about history instead of yapping about beating their bitches and hoes.
We salute you, Pitbull.

Kudos to Menendez and Martinez

It is no surprise that congressional Marxists (AKA, Democrats, for those of you reading us for the first time) have moved quickly to weaken the embargo against Cuba. This time, they have done so by inserting language to do so in a a so-called "omnibus" spending bill (whatever carajo that is), and with Obama's support. One of the provisions would allow Cuba to purchase goods from the United States on credit. Currently, any goods purchased by the regime from the United States have to be paid up front because of Cuba's reputation of non-payment, not to mention grand theft when they confiscated billions of dollars worth of American assets in the 1960's with impunity.

We at Versailles Beat have been critical of Senators Mel Martinez, Republican from Florida for not being conservative enough and Bob Menendez, Democrat from New Jersey for being, well, a Democrat. However, we must give credit where credit is due. Martinez has come out against any efforts to weaken the embargo, and Menendez has even stood up to the Marxists in his party by openly opposing any attempt to cozy-up to the Castro regime.

We salute these men, and also extend kudos to Democrat Bill Nelson for joining them.

Below are videos of both speeches given by Menendez and Martinez before the United States Senate.

Again, we salute Senators Menendez and Martinez.

Those who spit up in the air...

...wind up with spit on their face.

Zapata may want to take out a hankie.

As Santiago reported last week, State Representative Juan Carlos Zapata has recruited a so-called Italo Zanzi to run for his seat when his term is up in 2010. The problem is, Italo Zanzi has visited Cuba, negotiated with Castro's communist government, and in doing so, conferred legitimacy on the bastard, unelected, unaccountable totalitarian tyranny that has ruled Cuba for over 50 years.

Apparently Colombian-American Zapata doesn't have a problem with someone like that, and neither does Cuban-American Representative Julio Robaina who is also supporting Zanzi. Shame on them both.

Pero regardless, they have a right to support whomever they want. This is, after all, Miami and not Havana.

Pero, wait! Now the Mayor of Miami Beach, Matti Herrera Bower, said something that offended Zapata. His response: She should resign.

According to an article in the Miami Herald, The not-so-bright mayor of Miami Beach made a little remark during a council meeting implying that all drug dealers were Colombians.

Apparently Zapata thinks that the mayor of Miami Beach should resign for an "off-the-cuff" remark, as the Herald put it, but he finds absolutely nothing wrong with recruiting some out-of-towner with ZERO roots in our community who moved down to South Florida to run for his seat. If it was that alone, it'd be a stupid recruit. What makes it offensive, though, is that he visited Cuba, stayed in Cuba's hotels, enjoyed Cuba's oppulence reserved only for foreigners, and negotiated with Castro's representatives.

So Zapata thinks Matti should resign for a benign, though stupid statement that offended him.

Well, Zapata has offended me and any self-respecting Cuban-American by recruiting, supporting, and raising money for someone like Zanzi. Luckily for Zapata, people aren't forced to resign when they offend someone, otherwise he'd be out.

Enemy of the Cuban Exile Running in Miami?

Last night the Versailles Beat was blind copied on an email sent to our brothers at "Vigilia Mambisa." Upon reading the email, we did our own research.

The e-mail, which is copied below, accuses Mr. Italo Zanzi of personally negotiating with the terrorist regime in La Habana. Our research yielded confirmation that Zanzi did in fact personally visit Cuba to negotiate with Fidel's henchmen while he worked for Major League Baseball.

We at Versailles Beat echo the sentiments expressed in the e-mail below and condemn anyone who has ever visited Cuba to negotiate anything with the Castro regime while ignoring the plight of the Cuban People. Here are the links to the articles that the e-mail we received cite, which we have confirmed to be authentic and published by legitimate media outlets:
http://impreso.elnuevodiario.com.ni/2006/01/12/deportes/10061
http://www.cubaencuentro.com/es/deportes/noticias/castro-autoriza-la-participacion-en-el-clasico-mundial-7363

We have no other details on Zanzi except that he plays professional handball (whatever that is), and that he ran for Congress in New York but obviously lost.

Would any of our readers know why he is in Miami running for the Florida House of Representatives?

We have received emails stating current representative Juan Zapata recruited him. We corroborated this after seeing Representative Zapata's name on a fundraiser invitation for Mr. Zanzi. The fundraiser was earlier this week at the home of prominent Miami political mover and shaker, Armando Gutierrez.

We at the Versailles Beat find it funny that Mr. Zapata would recruit an enemy of the exile community, the same community he campaigned in and that elected and reelected him. One can only wonder how Colombian Zapata would react if a fellow legislator recruited and raised money for an individual who negotiated with "FARC" representatives. Shame on you.

This story is still developing and we will bring you more information as it gets to us.

Here is a portion of the email we received:

We are indignant that major league baseball would legitimise the bastard, unelected dictatorship in Cuba by negotiating with representatives of the tyrant on any issue, and are even more outraged that one of its negotiators who went to Cuba, Italo Zanzi, would have the nerve to campaign for elected office in the heart of the Cuban exile community. Exile leaders, congresman Lincoln Diaz-Balart, and other members of this community absolutely condemned the MLB's decision to talk to the regime in 2005 and 2006. We also condem anyone who has traveled to Cuba, negotiated with the regime, and in the process of doing so enjoyed the food, hotels, and luxuries that the Cuban people have been denied for, in most cases, their whole lives.

**UPDATE, 2/15/09**

In response to this post a few days ago, we were e-mailed a copy of the latest fundraiser that was held for Italo Zanzi up in Tallahassee last Wednesday. Sadly, one of those listed as a host of the fundraiser is Cuban-American Representative Julio Robaina of South Miami.

We will give Robaina the benefit of the doubt and assume he didn't know about Zanzi's trips to Cuba and his dealings with the Castro government before agreeing to support him. Either way, we are disappointed in Robaina for supporting an enabler of the Castro regime, and we join those who have already called into Radio Mambi and La Poderosa to urge him to withdraw his support of Zanzi.

Let's be clear. Any Cuban who still supports Zanzi knowing about his trips to Cuba and his dealings with Castro's thugs is a traitor to Cuba, a traitor to the Cuban exile, and a traitor to his parents and abuelos who lost everything and struggled so hard to survive and pass on what they could to their children.

We urge you to respectfully let Zapata and Robaina know how disappointed you are that they would support someone like Zanzi.

GOP Chairman Rivera Commits First Political Caquita

Bueno, aparentemente the new Chairman of the Miami-Dade GOP David Rivera committed his first political cagada when he decided to endorse Frank Cuzzocrea for South Miami commissioner.
Cuzzocrea is a longtime Republican activist who was once the chairman of the Biscayne Bay Young Republicans. Apparently that didnt' help him one bit in his race for South Miami Commissioner. Rivera la cago big time when he decided to endorse Cuzzocrea, who yesterday gained a measely and embarrassing 54 votes, coming in LAST out of 5 candidates. Furthermore, Cuzzocrea also came in last in his race for the Republican Executive Committee. These two outcomes make Cuzzocrea the only candidate in Miami-Dade County to actually envy the political savvy and influence of "perpetual candidate" Evaristo Marina.

Que cojones was Rivera thinking? There were other Republicans in that race and as chairman he shouldn't have endorsed any one of them. We at the Versailles Beat supported Rivera for chairman of the Miami-Dade GOP against the liberal, arab-looking Carlos Curbelo who donates money to Democrats, a decision we still do not regret. However, Rivera needs to start demonstrating more restraint and prudence when he decides to endorse candidates. It is embarrassing that he would support someone who was only able to garner 54 votes in a small municipality on an irregular election day.

Franklin Sands and Rod Blagojevich -- Two Peas in a Pod

We at the versailles beat have never been interested in State politics, but once we read the attacks on Speaker Ray Sansom it was time to politiquear.

You may be wondering about the title. Bueno, thats easy: Franklin Sands and Rod Blagojevich have one common bond: selling political positions for "FULA," which--to those of you north of Pembroke Pines--means money.

First, a little background. Franklin Sands has had a bitter sweet year. He lost quite a bit of money in the Madoff scandal, but was also selected the Democrat leader of the Florida House of Representatives. Being minority leader is a big deal. If the Democrats had the majority, he would be the speaker now, but since they mercifully are in the minority, his position is minority leader. As Democrat minority leader, he recommends committee assignments for his fellow Democrats, and it is customary that the speaker of the house (Sansom) assign committee seats to Democrats accordingly.

Now, Ray Sansom es un comemierda for doing what he did. I'm not going to get into what he did, because he's already gotten enough candela over his comemierdura. But, for those of you who don't know, you can read more on it here. We at Versailles Beat feel he should spare our state and our party the embarrassment, and resign.

But Sands has hardly received any media scrutiny over his actions, which is why we want to focus on him and not beat the dead Sansom horse.

Here's the deal: Sands receives money indirectly through the Florida Democrat Party (FDP), and he has been accused of selling key committee seats to those Democrats that raised the most money.

Blago, on the other hand, receives his cash directly into his campaign funds. He has been accused of selling the US Senate seat vacated by Obama.

Why doesnt the media treat Sands just like Blago and Sansom? Well, thats simple. First, Sands was savvy enough to hire Mark Hollis , a Sun-Sentinel reporter, as his communication director. Talk about media bias.

A 16-year veteran reporter, Mark makes sure that his media pals don't attack poor Sands.

Secondly, Sands and the Democrats have been eerily quiet about Sansom and his scandal. This is because Sands knows that if the Democrats rattle the cage, the Republicans will retaliate by escalating Sands' little scandal. If Sansom goes, Sands also needs to go, and the Democrats know this.

Atleast Sansom helped a school (albeit to get a "botella"), whereas Sands helped Karen Thurman pay for her bar tab.

With that said, we call upon our state's so-called "media" to also look into several ECO's funded by the Democrats. I'm sure there's some good stuff to be found there.

Just like Sansom shouldn't be appropriating money to institutions that will give him a cushy botella, Sands shouldn't be selling committee assignments to raise money for the Democrats.

"2008 Versailles Beat Awards"

2008 Winners of the Year - Rep. David Rivera, Sen. Jeff Atwater, and the Diaz-Balarts

In what turned out to be a great week for him, Rivera was tapped for Chairman of one of the two appropriations committees in the Florida House of Representatives and within days won the hotly-contested Miami Dade REC Chairmanship despite a hard push by local Republican moderates (AKA: RINOs). Rivera went on to beat Democrat fundraiser and Diaz-Balart spinmeister Carlos Curbelo by 1 vote in the party chairman race.

Sen. Atwater kept intact his coup against the RINO Senator Alex Villalobos. Despite a paper tiger challenge by former State Senator Skip Campbell orchestrated by Villalobos ally and Rivera antagonist David Custin, Atwater retained his senate seat and went on to assume the presidency that he justifiably took from Villalobos. Meanwhile, Villalobos is whining and complaining about the possibility of an honorable jurist and constitutionalist like Frank Jimenez being tapped for Florida's Supreme Court. We will likely post on this at a later date.

The Diaz-Balarts were able to stave off stiff challenges from Democrats Raul Martinez and Joe Garcia. Kudos to them for winning their hard-fought races, but too bad for them that they got egg on their faces when Curbelo was defeated by Rivera.

2008 Comemierdas of the Year - Tim Mahoney, Sasha Tirador, Jim Greer, Tom Feeney, and Ray Sansom

The one thing these five have in common is "Puteria."
Mahoney - Puteria with women brought him down.
Tirador - Puteria with men, women and absentee ballots will finally have her under investigation.
Greer - Puteria by pampering himself courtesy of party contributors.
Feeney - Puteria distracted him from campaigning.
Sansom - Puteria with taxpayer money got the speaker of the house a cushy botella with his hometown college, but may also cost him his speakership and future political office.

2008 Newcomers of the Year - Erik Fresen and JC Planas

Fresen finally got his braces, and he squashed the over-hyped Perez machine. Planas, after doing absolutely nothing for the past 6 years in Tallahassee has finally graduated from "completely irrelevant" to "virtually inconsequential."

2008 Comebacks of the Year - Jeb Bush & Marco Rubio

Two years after leaving the Governor's Mansion, Jeb Bush is ready to roar back onto the Florida political scene by running for the senate seat being vacated by the ineffective moderate and "Cubano cuando le conviene," Mel Martinez. His return to politics is welcome news for conservatives in Florida who are tired of the leadership vacuum Jeb left behind for the spineless RINO Charlie Crist to fill. Rubio did a good job in carrying the Jeb legacy for two years, and word around El Versailles is that he looks to fill one of the open state senate seats, or perhaps even a statewide cabinet position or US Senate seat. In the meantime, he will remain active as Miami's Republican Party State Commiteee member.

2008 Cabrones of the Year - Charlie Crist, Arlene DiBenigno, and Jim Greer

After betraying conservatives by endorsing the most liberal Republican in the field of presidential contenders at the 11th hour, Charlie Crist turned around and betrayed his own candidate John McCain when he wasn't tapped for vice president. As our readers may recall, "Empty Chair" Charlie initially traveled the entire country campaigning with McCain. When he was not chosen as McCain's running mate, Charlie all but stopped campaigning with McCain and did nothing more to help carry Florida for him. Meanwhile, former Crist staffer and spiteful troll, Arlene DiBenigno sat on her hands and let Florida go to Obama out of resentment that she would never be a staffer to a Vice President Crist. This follows a long pattern of treason by Arlene who betrayed her previous boss Jeb Bush after he was no longer useful to her. As for Jim Greer, the Chairman of the Republican Party of Florida handpicked by Crist, he was too busy pampering himself courtesy of the party's warchest to know what the heck was going on.

Noche Buena - Merry Christmas

Noche Buena, que dias mas bonito.

In 1969 the Terrorist Dictator in Cuba , imposed an outright ban on Noche Buena and Christmas Day celebrations.

I thank God everyday for the opportunities and freedom in the United States. Not being able to celebrate the birth of Christ in our country of origin was a breaking point for most Cubans. On this great day, let's not forget all the political prisoners in Castro's Gulags. (Oscar Elias Biscet)

Nuestro dia ya viene llegando.

Here are some easy "caja china" instructions:

Next week we will be announcing the "2008 Versailles Beat Awards."

Editors note...

Caballero, yesterday one of our contributors posted an entry about some shenanigans that were going on with a Miami-based young Republican club and their alleged involvement in the recent Republican Party chairman election.

We at Versailles Beat have always cited our material and have backed up our claims with links to relevant articles or other websites, as you can see from past columns. Unfortunately, the last post which was published a day ago was based almost entirely on innuendo.

I received several messages, e-mails, and comments regarding the post, and as editor of the blog determined that those complaints were justified. I spoke it over with its author and we have both decided to pull the column.

He says he stands by his sources and stands by what he wrote, but we would rather maintain our tradition of citing our sources and being able to prove our allegations, as we did when we were the first to unearth contributions to a congressional Democrat by a none other than a candidate for GOP chairman. We linked to the report and there was no doubt as to the validity of our claims. Unfortunately, yesterday's post was not as clear cut. Regardless, we welcome a response from those implicated in Pepe's column should they wish to challenge the allegations.

Con eso dicho, we have pulled the post and will continue to strive to do what we have always done with utmost responsibility and respect for the truth.

GOP Wars: Rivera vs. Curbelo, Part III -- The Conservatives Strike Back

61-60. That's what Rivera beat Curbelo by. Del Carajo!

We at the Versailles Beat Blog were the first to break the story about Carlos Curbelo and his personal contribution to Democrats and his financial, political, and personal ties to other Democrat contributors such as David Custin and the gorda fea Sasha Tirador.

We want to congratulate the slim majority of Republican committee members who rejected liberalism, turncoatism, and treachery by voting against Carlos Curbelo.

Here's how we saw it, Curbelo came in and thought he was the "Golden Boy." He had never once been a member of the committee he campaigned to lead, but for some reason thought that just because he raised money for the Diaz-Balarts--a job he gets paid to do--he thought he could waltz into the chairmanship of a party dominated by longtime grassroots volunteers. Que equivocado.

When the votes were counted, Rivera squeezed a victory by one vote. As soon as Rivera was declared the winner, the state legislators that showed up to vote for Curbelo, who according to our sources never attend party committee meetings to begin with, immediately left without voting for the other party offices. The result: the rest of Curbelo's slate lost, too.

Aside from Curbelo and Rivera, we would also like to point out the other losers and winners of tonight's race.

Big Losers

1) David Custin

Registered Democrat and political consultant David Custin thought that he could jump on the gravy train with a Curbelo chairmanship. Had his candidate won Custin thought he could cash-in with potential clients by promising them that the GOP chairman would endorse them in primary races. He also thought a Chairman Curbelo would have "referred" candidates to Custin for campaign services On a personal level, Custin hates Rivera because of past electoral clashes.

Sorry Davey, Rivera te dio pow-pow once again. Te jodiste.

2) "Rising Republican Youth of South Florida."
Another big loser was the recently-formed group, the "Rising Republican Youth of South Florida." They promised Curbelo their votes, trying to hedge their bets. Our sources say two of their members met with Curbelo and Rivera, and eventually committed their votes to Curbelo. Apparently there are future political aspirations among some of the members and they decided to back whoever's support could be brokered for leverage in the inevitable primary election battles. Well, now they have egg on their faces. Maybe they should stick to DC brown-nosing. Naughty Naughty.

3) Mario and Lincoln Diaz Balart.
Apparently Mr. Bean (Rivera) ended the honeymoon period following Lincoln and Mario's big wins in November. Their wins several weeks ago lulled them into a false sense of political security, making them think they had enough political capital to control the Miami GOP. They pushed their man and lost. Lincoln even went on Radio Mambi recently to endorse Curbelo, and his congressional secretary, Ana Carbonell, was Curbelo's observer when the votes were being counted. According to two sources at the scene, she left the ballot counting room teary eyed when it became evident that Mr. Bean had defeated her candidate. Sorry Lincoln, sorry Ana, pero te jodieron.

4) Babalu Blog
To our friends in the Babalu Blog, we love you guys, share most of your views, we are brothers in arms in our struggle for a free Cuba, and even have you listed as one of our favorite blogs. But Mr. Gomez, you should call it how it is and not cover for your personal friends.

Mr. Gomez attacked us instead of addressing the content of what we posted. We proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that Curbelo had in fact contributed to Democrats, and instead dismissed it to attack us. Mr Gomez, you should know that donating to Albiro Sires may help you become CANF Executive Director, but it will definitely hurt your chances of becoming GOP Chair. I know you are going to criticize us for our endorsement in the congressional race, and you have the right to. It is what it is, and we made clear that we did so because we are tired of moderate Republican traitors who legislate in tandem with the Democrats time after time. Aside from that, we really appreciate what you do for the Cuban cause, y ustedes siempre seran nuestros hermanos.

5) Former Miami Mayor Xavier Suarez
Xavier Suarez is a crackpot. For some reason the guy has been trying to take over the party ever since 2000 and has failed each and every time. The last time he tried it in 2004 Suarez made an ass of himself, as he usually does, so this time he tried to do it by proxy through Carlos Curbelo. He failed yet again, but to Suarez's credit, at least this time Curbelo took the hit. Carlos, take the hint and stay away from Xavier.

6) Charlie Crist & Jim Greer
Charlie Crist is no Republican. He is a traitor to conservatism and to the values of the party of Lincoln and Reagan. Jim Greer, Crist's hand-picked chairman of the Florida Republican Party has converted the party into nothing more than a vehicle to cover and legitimize all of Charlie Crist's treason of conservative and Republican values, and a personal expense account for oppulent indulgence. They even went so far as turning their backs on McCain when he didn't tap Crist to be his vice president. Si eso no es traicion, then I don't know what is. With Rivera winning and Marco Rubio becoming the new state party committee man, Greer will likely lose two additional votes if he decides to run for reelection, which our sources say he will.

We at Versailles Beat would love to see Rubio run against Greer for chairman, pero if he does not, we call upon the Miami Republican Party delegation and all committee members of the Florida Republican Party to reject Crist, Greer, their liberal treachery, and their squandering of party resources on personal luxuries by voting against Greer for reelection. We would love to see anyone but Greer head the party. Esta bueno ya de traicionar nuestros principios.

Big winners

1) Jeb Bush - if he runs for the Senate he wont have to worry about RINO State Senator Alex Villalobos trying to screw him over through the Miami GOP. Remember that Villalobos and Jeb have clashed for years since Villalobos led the RINO opposition in the state senate to many of Jeb's initiatives when he was governor. Custin has close ties to Villalobos (his wife is a Villalobos secretary). Curbelo is also closely tied because Mario Diaz-Balart and Villalobos were colleagues and allies in the state legislature. A Curbelo chairmanship would have meant that Custin and Villalobos would be pulling Curbelo's strings to make it more difficult on Jeb.

2) Marco Rubio - Rivera is his closest friend and advisor. If Rubio wants to accomplish anything politically in Miami, he will have the closest of allies at the helm of the party. There is no doubt that under a Rivera administration, Rubio will have the party's support. We at Versailles Beat have previously expressed support for Rubio, as he is a great conservative Republican voice in a spineless moderate Republican wilderness.

3) Juan Zapata - Our sources say he's not necessarily a Rivera fan, but he supported him because he understands what a Curbelo administration would have represented. We have always felt that Zapata has potential, and we wish him the best.

4)Erik Fresen - Curbelo and Diaz-Balart strongly supported this freshman representative's primary challenger, and Fresen wasn't to happy about that. Although Rivera did not seem to support him in the primary either, he did not go out of his way to screw him over. There is no question that Fresen and Rivera share many of the same principles and many of the same enemies. We are certain that Fresen is a rising star and Rivera will have a positive working relationship with him.

5) Conservatism - No doubt the biggest winner tonight was conservatism. The liberal/moderate Republicans wanted to take over the party and they were stopped. We need to bring the Republican Party back to basics and stop compromising our principles by siding with Democrats on issues such as amnesty for illegals, being anti-voucher and anti-school choice, industry-destroying global warming policies, and out of control spending. This is why we reject the likes of Charlie Crist, and feel that the party needs to get back to basics from the ground up.

The conservative victory in Miami is the first step.

GOP Wars: Rivera vs. Curbelo, Part II -- The Alliances

Bueno mi gente, aparentemente Elias' blog several days ago (posted below) has created quite a stir. People have been posting our blog on other blogs and we have even been accused of being "liberal." Figurate tu. It would seem that our research and the insider information we have obtained and made public about Miami-Dade GOP chairman candidates Representative David Rivera and political consultant for hire Carlos Curbelo have caused some people an acute case of cagalera.

Bueno caballero, we have a little more information to share and update you on, so prepare for another round of Pepto Bismol!

But before we go there, we would like to address a rumor that has been blogged about since we broke the GOP Wars story. It has been rumored that one of the candidates for GOP Chairman, Representative David Rivera, organized and headed a Republicans for Clinton organization back in 1992 when Bubba ran against El Viejo Bush. We have researched this allegation ad nauseum and have found no proof of it. We invite those who are alleging that Rivera formed a pro-Clinton group in 1992 to offer proof by posting it as a comment here. If the proof is substantiated, we will make a correction and condemn Rivera for his treachery.

Otherwise, we at Versailles Beat must conclude that this is just an unfounded rumor inventado por Curbelo loyalists who cannot excuse, and are trying to distract from, Curbelo's campaign contribution to liberal Democrat congressman Albio Sires.

Now, on to some newly uncovered information.

It has been said that you know people by the friends they keep. "Dime con quien andas, y te dire quien eres" is the old Cuban adage. Well, aside from donating to liberal Democrats, it would appear that wannabe GOP Chairman Carlos Curbelo also has quite a list of friends and business associates who also contribute to unsavory Democrats.

First, someone whom we have always disliked here at Versailles Beat: Sasha Tirador.

She's an unattractive, under-achieving, former late night spanish radio hostess who passes herself off as a journalist and analista politica for some chusma tv show on channel 41. She's one of these slimy, low-class bigmouths who for some unholy reason has been entrusted with a microphone and camera for a television show that caters to the uneducated, low-class chusma Hispanic population here in Miami. She uses her position to intimidate politicians and celebrities by throwing a mic and camera in their faces, like she did to School Board Member Ana Rivas Logan a few years ago. I'm sure she has done it a lot more since then, but I haven't watched that stupid show in years (sorry, but midgets, cross-dressers, clowns, and illiterates hablando mierda around a table as a bunch of balseras dance around to reggaeton don't inspire faithful viewership in me).

Aparte de eso, she is also a political consultant of sorts. She runs a telephone bank operation for candidates who hire her to follow-up on absentee ballots, get out the vote, or whatever else. She was recently involved in a bit of a scandal when her telephone bankers were caught calling Raul Martinez absentee voters claiming they worked for the Martinez campaign. The mostly elderly Martinez supporters would agree to give them their absentee ballots so the fake Martinez campaign workers could "turn in" the absentee ballots to the department of elections for them. According to the article, the ballots would instead "disappear" so that the Martinez votes would not be counted.

The article makes clear that Tirador was hired to run her banquito telefonico for the Diaz-Balart campaign by David Custin, another political consultant who works campaigns for Democrats and Republicans. Carlos Curbelo, the Diaz-Balart's main political consultant and campaign manager, hired David Custin to help with the Diaz-Balart campaigns.

We at Versailles Beat have been informed that Curbelo has tapped Tirador to help him in his run for GOP chairman. Our sources stated that she helped organize a meet and greet last week at a bookstore. We even received one unconfirmed report that Tirador has personally called some committee members to urge them to vote for Curbelo.

These specific details are unconfirmed, but the relationship makes sense. She was hired to provide telephone bank services to the Diaz-Balart campaigns, which Curbelo managed. Also, word around la ventana del Versailles is that she recruited the midget Juan Espinosa from the dumb, chusma TV show she is or was a part of to run against Rivera for state representative earlier this year. Also, up until some months ago, she ran a now defunct website called miamicaca.com where she posted some distasteful stories about Republicans, including David Rivera.

Here's the twist: Sasha gave $200 to Barack Obama in February of 2008, and later gave $409 more for a total of $609 to Obama this year. A woman who spent weeks condemning Clinton's raid of the Elian Gonzalez house in 2000 contributed to the Democrat who is tapping Eric Holder, Janet Reno's deputy at the time, as Attorney General. Not only does Curbelo give money to Democrats but he also hires "chusmas" like Tirador who also give money to Democrats.

Curbelo's other campaign business associate, the less chusma and more savvy David Custin did not contribute to Obama, but he gave money to Democrats such as liberals Sen. Patty Murray from Washington state and Rep. Ron Klein from Broward and Palm Beach, as well as Democrats at the state and local levels. If he wins the chairmanship of the party, will Curbelo hire these two Democrat contributors to do work for the GOP as he has done with the Diaz-Balart campaigns? Would party donors feel comfortable donating to a party headed by a Democrat contributor who hires consultants who contribute to Democrats?

But Curbelo's ties to Democrat contributors does not end there.

For those of us who listen to Radio Mambi on a regular basis, we know that Carlos Curbelo often appears on shows with so-called Republican fundraiser Ana Navarro.

Ana Navarro takes pride in touting herself wherever she goes by traveling with McCain in his "Straight Talk Express," attending the Republican Convention, and showing herself off at any high roller Republican event.

Despite all her Republican pomp and circumstance, last year this Republican stalwart and personal friend of Curbelo's invited Castro's personal friend and chief apologist in congress, the utterly despicable Democrat Rep. Charles Rangel, to a fundraiser in her home. Yes, Ana Navarro had Charles Rangel in her home for a fundraiser--the same Ana Navarro who appears with her pal Carlos Curbelo on the radio on a regular basis to talk politics.

Now you all might be asking what all this has to do with the Miami-Dade GOP. Well, these are the types that Curbelo "pals around" with and does business with, and will undoubtedly allow to run amok in our party. They will likely use the party for their own personal, political, and/or financial gain.

One of the arguments we Republicans had against Barack Obama was his dubious ties to people whose allegiances to America were in question. Those ties, in our opinion, are one of the many reasons that make Obama unfit for the presidency of our great country.

Likewise, it is our opinion that Curbelo's personal, political, and financial ties to people whose allegiance to our party are in question, in addition to his financial support of a Democrat and his inexperience with the party committee, make him unfit for the chairmanship of our party.

We maintain our reservations about a Rivera chairmanship as discussed in Elias' previous post, but if experience and party loyalty are to be taken into consideration, as they should, Rivera is by far the most qualified candidate of to lead our party.

GOP Wars: Rivera vs Curbelo

¡Ay mamá, que papa caliente!

In one corner, we have Rep. David Rivera, a Republican state re-representative and longtime party activist, and in the other we have Carlos Curbelo, a Political consultant and long-time fundraiser for the Diaz-Balarts. Both want to be the Republican Party of Miami-Dade County's next chairman.

First, David Rivera.

David Rivera is a state representative. He has been pretty consistent and is by no means a RINO. I have been told that he has been a member of Miami-Dade's Republican Party Committee for many years. He has been a member of the State Republican Committee for the past several years, and worked alongside several chairmen. This gives him institutional knowledge of the party, which is very important.

My concern with Rivera is that he is an elected official. This may pose a conflict if he decides to seek higher office. Word around El Versailles is that he wants to run for State Senate. I'm sure he would have a primary challenge on his hands and as chairman, he may be tempted to use his position in the party to his advantage. This is troublesome to me.

But, now Curbelo.

Although prominent in Republican circles, according to my sources political consultant Carlos Curbelo has never been an actual member of the Republican committee in Miami or anywhere else. Our research revealed that twice before--in 2000 and 2004--former crackpot mayor and Democrat-turned-Independent, turned-Republican Xavier Suarez made a fool of himself by assuming he could waltz into the chairmanship of the party committee he had never been a member of. Curbelo is following in Suarez's footsteps by assuming he can do the same. We find it presumptuous.

Speaking of Suarez, rumor has it he may be looking to run for the GOP state committee. It's a good thing he doesn't know my address, otherwise he might show up at my door in his pajamas at 5am to curse me out.

But back to the chairman race...

There is another thing that all Miami-Dade Republicans should know, especially those sitting on the party committee: Curbelo helps Democrats.

Although he is known most for being a political consultant for the Diaz-Balarts and a perennial habla-mierda on Radio Mambi, the presumptive wannabe Chairman of the Republican Party of Miami-Dade County, Carlos Curbelo, personally contributed $500 dollars as recently as 12/18/2007 to Albio Sires for congress, a DEMOCRAT.

So much for a guy who insisted upon party loyalty when he was stumping for Lincoln and Mario, who both have an unsavory pattern of supporting Democrats themselves, especially here in Miami.

Now, Sires is not just any Democrat. He is a leftwing Democrat party hack who has openly favored impeaching President Bush for "lying" about iraq. Carlos Curbelo, the man who wants to run the Republican Party of Miami-Dade County, raised money and therefore helped elect a Democrat who wants to investigate and impeach a sitting wartime president, Republican George W. Bush.

The American Conservative Union gave Sires a score of 0 out of 100, and the liberal Americans for Democratic Action gave Sires a 95 out of 100. Can you imagine a Republican party chairman of any county giving a guy like this money for his reelection? If that's not a removable offense, I don't know what is.

Carlos Curbelo makes a healthy living as a political consultant. While the John McCain Presidential campaign was faltering in Iowa and New Hampshire, Curbelo received a retainer fee from the McCain campaign. The invoice stated $41,250 from March 07, 2007- July 5, 2007. These dates are stunning because the Florida primary was in January 2008. When Mccain couldn 't pay his retainer fee because he was "broke," Curbelo jumped off the McCain camp and onto the Fred Thompson train. From October 9th 2007-Febraury 29th 2008 Curbelo collected a $33,750 retainer fee from Thompson's campaign. Then, when Thompson dropped out, he jumped back on the McCain bandwagon and collected another $12,500 on February 21, 2008.

I understand Curbelo needs to make a living, and he has a right to. But, Miami-Dade County Republicans need a leader who will not be distracted by running his clients' campaigns, or worse, helping Democrats. If he gives money to Democrats, how can we be so sure he will not undermine Republicans running against any of his future Democrat clients? What about Republican primaries? Will he use his position as Chairman to endorse his Republican clients in primaries?

A party chairman with integrity would not use his or her position as chairman to support or oppose candidates in his or her party's primary. This is a concern for both Curbelo, who profits from campaigns, and Rivera, who himself is an elected official.

Regardless of that, Rivera is a better choice to lead the Miami-Dade GOP. As a longtime party activist and current state representative, he has demonstrated that he is true to his Republican principles, he has an institutional familiarty with the party that Curbelo does not possess, and most importantly, has not contributed to Democrats like Curbelo has. We at Versailles Beat support Rivera, but call on him to pledge to remain neutral in Republican primaries, and should he find himself in a primary fight, he should pledge to resign or at least yield the gavel to the vice chairman until after the election.

As for Curbelo, we at Versailles Beat believe that anyone who contributes to Democrats, especially as recently as last year, should not be running the Republican Party in Florida's largest county. He should distance himself from Democrats, remain a member of the committee to learn the ropes, and eventually he can seek a more prominent role in the party. Rivera has proved himself to be a loyal Republican activist and committee member. Curbelo, in our opinion, has not--yet.

Democrat Party Defeats Raúl Martínez

Apparently the Obama victory and the Democrat gains in congress weren't the only reasons why the Democrat Party popped champagne bottles on election night. Their actions in the Raúl Martínez campaign make me believe Raúl's loss gave them more reason to celebrate.

See, two months ago, this race was a "Dead Heat." I know this because my sources in the Martinez and Diaz Balart campaigns confirmed it. Lincoln se cagó, and that's when the decision came from Republican leadership in Washington to throw everything they had at Raul.

Yo no me quejo de eso. The Republicans did everything they had to do to win, and politics is war. I admire their tenacity in this case (I only wish the Charlie Crist loyalist idiots running the McCain campaign in Florida were as focused, but that's a subject for another post).

Treachery is what I don't like nor respect. I hate traitors, and that's why I hate the Democrat party.

See, I ran into a Martinez ally the other night at Versailles, and he told me that the Martinez loss was not only because of the Republican campaign against him. This Martinez insider I spoke to placed most of the blame for their loss on the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC).

The DCCC sent down several incompetent Washington hacks to teach Martinez how to campaign, including a so-called Belen Mendoza, who has never won a race. My source told me that she was nothing more than a thorn in the Martinez campaign. She and the DCCC screwed things up for the campaign by dictating how to execute strategy in an area they are totally and completely unfamiliar with.

Also according to our source, the DCCC promised Martinez $2 million to combat Lincoln's attacks. When it was time to put out the money, the DCCC backed out and instead decided to help party insider and mierda-extraordinaire Joe García.

Raúl took several hits over the years for backing candidates like Al Gore and John Kerry, and I was the first to disagree with him and reject those candidates. However, I admire him for sticking to his beliefs and being a man of his word. So, after all he has done for them, he was undermined by the very Democratic party he has helped over the years.

The Democrats' treasonous nature apparently knows no bounds. They're even willing to betray their own. Que partido de mierda.

Asi que, hats off to Lincoln and the RNCC. Once again Republicans showed how coordination between the campaign and the national party wins elections. Our source in Lincoln's camp stated that the RNCC fulfilled everything that Lincoln requested. Lincoln and the RNCC executed a perfect campaign against Martinez.

Now I hope Lincoln will realize why we here at Versailles Beat endorsed Martinez. We conservatives are sick and tired of Republicans who betray their conservative principles. Lincoln has been strong on the issue of Cuba and most social issues, but it's time that he get strong on issues such as illegal immigration, government spending, and most importantly quit endorsing Democrats locally and liberal Republicans during primaries.

Finally, I'd also like to call on Lincoln to promote real change in Cuba. First, he needs to work to eliminate the Cuban Adjustment Act and the 20,000 yearly visas. This allows Castro to pick and choose who he wants to send here, and allows Castro the privilege to export his opposition, and in some cases, send his sympathizers and spies who undermine our cause here in Miami.

Second, he can cut a deal with Obama and the Democrats by supporting the end of the travel restrictions to allow Cuban Americans to travel to Cuba ONLY IF the Cuban Adjustment Act and 20,000 visas are eliminated. It doesn't make sense to allow people to "seek political asylum" under the Cuban Adjustment Act and then let them go visit the same country they fled due to "political persecution."

If these steps are taken, Castro will not be able to ulitize the visas and adjustment act to release the internal political pressure, and Cuba will self-implode.

Comprehensive case against Barack Obama - MUST READ

Caballero, here is probably the most comprehensive, well thought-out and substantiated case against Barack Obama I have encountered. If you are on the fence, if you are supporting him, or even supporting McCain but want additional reasons to oppose Obama, please read this.

I highly recommend this to anyone who needs a clear understanding on how important it is for us to oppose Barack Obama. This election is NOT about Bush or about "teaching him a lesson" by voting against McCain. This election is about the future of this country y no podemos permitir that someone as radical as Barack Obama be elected president, especially with a Democrat congress that will give him a carte blanche to do whatever he wants.

If he wins with an overwhelming Democrat majority in congress, they will control ALL LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT and Obama will have DICTATORIAL POWERS and WITHOUT CHECKS AND BALANCES.

Caballero, this is serious. Please read this and forward it to everyone you know. We MUST stop the most radical candidate for president in U.S. history. We MUST preserve our American way of life.

Para Presidente, Versailles Beat Endorses...

Bueno, anyone who has read absolutely anything I have written should know which way I'm going on this.

By the same token, many also know that I did not support this candidate during the primaries, but since he chose a great running mate, and quite frankly, because his opponent is the most radical leftist we have ever had run for national office, it is clear who I'll be supporting for President.

Presidente: McCain vs Obama
Like I wrote the other day, I place the blame for this financial cagazón squarely on the Democrats, including Barack Obama and his leftist cronies that run the voter fraud operation known as ACORN.

Most importantly to me, though, is that I cannot support anyone who is not a patriot. That's right, I said it. Barack Obama is NOT a patriot, ni mucho menos, and here's why:

Barack Obama has a laundry list of America-hating friends and mentors. See, someone who loves his country, doesn't hang around people who hate that country. Es como ser amigo con alguien que habla mierda y que odia a tu mujer o a tu esposo. You just don't do that. So I can't support anyone who is not a patriot.

A patriot also doesn't launch his political career in the living room of an anti-American terrorist such as William Ayers. Can you imagine if McCain had launched his career in the living room of, say, Timothy McVeigh, or someone who bombed abortion clinics?

The only difference between McVeigh and el amiguito de Obama is that McVeigh was more "effective" in carrying out his terrorist act than the communist terrorists Obama hung out out with in Chicago and sat with on boards of leftwing organizations such as the Chicago Annenberg Project. Although McVeigh caused more damage, they were both equally motivated to kill and terrorize Americans out of their hatred for this country.

I don't want anyone who has friends like that anywhere near the White House.

Also, can you imagine McCain being associated with a racist church? Imagine if McCain's pastor of 20 years went off on racial tirades against blacks during his sermons. Well, that's what Obama's pastor of 20 years did, except it wasn't blacks; it was whites, Jews, and America in general. Obama's pastor berated America the sunday after September 11, 2001, claiming that America deserved what she got that infamous Tuesday morning. Obama's pastor and spiritual mentor also openly embraces the rabidly racist anti-semite Louis Farrakhan and traveled with him to Libya in the 1980s to visit with its Islamic terrorist dictator Qadhafi at the height of hostilities between Libya and the west.

Another lesser mentioned friend of Obama is the former Palestinian Liberation Organization's (PLO) spokesman Rashid Khalidi. Barack Obama was so close to Khalidi and his family, that he regularly had dinner with these anti-Israel, pro-terrorist radical muslims and even hung out at pro-Palestinian / anti-Israel rallies. I'm not saying Obama is himself a muslim, but these relationships indicate to me he shares their political beliefs which is a much more malignant than merely sharing their religion.

There are several other reasons why I believe Barack Obama is not only a leftist or a Marxist, but also a seditious anti-American who detests American values, American military and economic superiority, liberty, and the free market principles that ushered in the modern age. Don't believe me? Just listen to his own wife and friends.

On the other hand, no one can claim that John McCain isn't a patriot. People may disagree with his views (as I often have), but I have never for one second felt that McCain didn't love this great nation that he sacrificed so much to serve. John McCain sat in a cage in a rat-infested communist gulag for years in service to this our great country. When he was offered the opportunity to leave, he refused because there were other soldiers who were captured before him and he felt they deserved release before him. That goes beyond patriotism. That's being a man.

I have oftentimes disagreed with his political decisions, but in doing so, McCain often voted against his party's leadership and his party's president. In fact, a comparison of their bipartisan records reveals that McCain has voted with Republicans 83% of the time and Obama 97% with Democrats. Who shows more of a willingness to reach across the aisle? Who's the partisan hack? John McCain has demonstrated a true ability to work with Democrats and Republicans to get things done for America, whereas Obama only works with leftists like himself. Barack Obama is such the blind partisan ideologue, that he has even been ranked as the Senate's most liberal senator by the non-partisan political publication "The National Journal." Eso quiere decir que Obama es más liberal que Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, y el amigo de Fidel Christopher Dodd.
We can't afford such a blind partisan leftist Democrat, especially since the congress is Democrat-controlled. That means that if Obama is elected the Democrats will control government at every level. So, SAY GOODBYE TO CHECKS AND BALANCES.

Moreover, what experience does Obama have to bring to the table at this critical time in our history? His experience in the private sector involves being head of the Harvard Law Review, but during that time he never wrote a single scholarly article. Eso es como si me eligieran el cocinero principal del Versailles sin ni si quiera colar un café.

After that, he became a lawyer and community organizer for the leftist front group and voter fraud operation known as ACORN. What did he accomplish there? Had he accomplished anything of merit, he would be trumpeting that with all his might, but why the silence? Is it because he was nothing more than a Jackson/Sharpton-like street-level rabble rouser in the Southside of Chicago? Or worse?

How about his experience in the Illinois State Senate? What did he accomplish there? Other than voting present over 100 times on key legislation, what issue or legislation did he sponsor and/or champion? Well, here's one: He fought hard against a law preventing the killing of infants through denial of medical care when they are mistakenly left alive outside the womb after a botched abortion. So yes, he fought hard for infanticide.

As a U.S. Senator, he has championed no issue nor any legislation. Other than getting earmarks for top fundraisers (more here), and launching his campaign for president as soon as he was elected to the Senate, what has he accomplished?

Obama talks a big talk about change, but what change has he promoted in his long, unillustrious career?

Obama is nothing but a charlatan who uses each position as a trampoline to jump to the next level. He is just a walking résumé with prestigious positions scattered throughout but without any text to detail any accomplishments or experience.

It's funny that the Democrats have attacked Sarah Palin on her alleged "inexperience" when she as governor has had to make more decisions in one day than Obama has had to make in his entire fluffed career. Funny how the candidate on the bottom of the Republican ticket has more experience than the candidate at the top of the Democrat's.

John McCain is a man of honor, integrity, and patriotism. His experience as a soldier and as a US Senator for over 20 years, and Sarah Palin's executive experience as a mayor and governor of the nation's main energy-producing state makes the McCain-Palin ticket the one to support.

Asi que nosotros at Versailles Beat enthusiastically support John McCain for President and Sarah Palin for Vice President of the United States.

Marxists, not the free market, caused this financial cagazón

Bueno, it appears that the ones who caused this whole financial cagazón are the ones insisting that we trust them to "fix" it.

It is amazing to me that the Marxist loons running amok in congress (AKA: congressional Democrats) are blaming this issue on Bush and the Republicans. Mind you, I believe the Republicans bear some of the blame insofar as they lacked the cojones to stand up to the Marxists.

See, it was the Democrats that opposed Bush and the congressional Republicans when they tried to regulate Freddie Mac & Fannie Mae, or "FRICK-N-FRACK" as I like to call them, a few years ago. To his credit, John McCain co-sponsored the legislation to regulate them.

However, when the Republicans tried to rein-in Frick-N-Frack and regulate their activities, the detestable leftist and former gay brothel operator Barney Frank drivelled, ''these two entities -- Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- are not facing any kind of financial crisis... The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.''

His Marxist Democrat cohorts agreed and killed Republican attempts to regulate Frick-N-Frack.

During that time, it was Democrat Franklin Raines running the show at Fannie. He made millions of dollars in bonuses when Frick-N-Frack would purchase these mortgages. See folks, this is how it worked:

With the Democrat-backed Community Reinvestment Act in place, banks were encouraged to offer loans to people who otherwise would not have qualified (i.e., people who couldn't pay them). Frick-N-Frack, which are government run institutions, would then turn around and buy these bad mortgages off the banks, bundle them up together and sell them to investors. This worked out until property values began to go down and people couldn't sell their houses for as much as they owed on them.

Bush and the Republicans in congress saw this dangerous trend and had the foresight to regulate Frick-N-Frack so they wouldn't encourage such predatory lending on the parts of the banks, but the Democrats refused.

See, the Democrats fight for regulating anything and everything, except themselves. That's what Marxists do: they try to regulate (destroy) the free market, but want the inefficient government agencies they create to do anything without oversight -- especially those agencies that THEY, the Democrats, control and enrich themselves with. (refer to Franklin Raines, Jim Johnson, and Jamie Gorelick).

Speaking of Raines and Johnson, despite the fact they helped cause this whole mess while they ran Frick-N-Frack, they are "advising" Obama on mortgage issues. Will one of them be treasury secretary if Obama wins? One can only wonder.

In fact, Obama received more money from Frick-N-Frack in his 4 short years in the US Senate than John McCain in his 20+ years. To be more precise, Obama was the #2 recipient of campaign contributions only after Democrat Christopher Dodd, the chairman of the committee that oversees Frick-N-Frack. McCain ranked near the bottom of the list.

Bottom line, I don't need these Marxist, economic saboteurs like Obama, Dodd, Frank, y la vieja Pelosi lecturing me or anyone else on the failure of capitalism, the free market, or the lack of regulation. They caused this financial crisis, and had they not interfered with the free market in the first place, this never would have happened.

Let's hope the American people don't put them in charge of addressing the mess they created in the first place.

Ike & Gustav Aren't the Real Disasters

(Editor's Note: Cheo Returns to Versailles Beat after battling some health problems)

Apparently Hurricnaes Gustav and Ike have reignited the anti-embargo coalition of congressional Marxists (AKA: Democrats), the traitors in the Miami Cuban exile community (Joe Garcias of the world), and the typical assortment of liberals, leftists, undesirables and their useful idiots. It seems that this unillustrious group of miscreants has decided to use these two unfortunate acts of God -- or "effects of Bush's Global Warming," as liberals call it -- as an excuse to lift the embargo on the bastard Stalinist regime in Cuba.

Well, I say hell no.

The Cuban government currently has the ability to purchase goods from the United States, including relief supplies. The only condition is that they must pay for any transactions up front and not on credit. In other words, cashirulo.

This policy makes not just philosophical sense, but commom sense. Why would the United States extend credit to the same regime that confiscated billions of dollars worth of American property in what was the single largest grand theft of American wealth in history? Everything from oil and sugar refineries to convenience stores, houses, and cars were stolen from Americans by Castro's bearded thugs without so much as a dime in compensation. I would say that hurts Fidel's credit rating with the United States for at least an eon or two.

I say let Venezuela come to Cuba's rescue. Cuba receives huge oil subsidies from their communist cohorts in Venezuela, which it turns around and sells on the open market (instead of it being used for the people). Cuba has the money to purchase whatever relief supplies it needs from the United States by paying cash up front and the embargo is not preventing them from doing so. Even if it did, Cuba has the ability to purchase anything it wants from any country other than the United States cash or credit -- and it does.

Pre-Castro Cuba weathered hurricanes worse than Ike & Gustav (i.e., the Great Hurricane of 1926) without needing foreign aid or assistance. Cuba's vibrant economy and first world infrastructure permitted her to weather these storms without the mass chaotic aftermath we see today. Instead, what we see now are the effects of Cuba's greatest disaster, which make Ike's and Gustav's effects pale in comparison. This 50 year-long disaster that has destroyed more lives and buildings than any hurricane in history, as it has in every other country it swept through, is communism.

If the Cuban regime is so desperate for America's helping hand, even though it's bitten that very hand for almost 5 decades, they can take some steps to demonstrate that they put their people above their politics. In other words, they must meet certain preconditions, which I know is a difficult concept for you Obama zealots to wrap your heads around.

For example, an appropriate precondition to any easing of diplomatic or economic sanctions would be freeing all political prisoners that have been rotting in Cuba's Stalinist gulags for years. Letting citizens buy cell phones is nice, but that's not what liberty is about.

Not until the Cuban regime proves that it has some basic concern for the welfare of its people should the United States take any steps in doing that very job for them.

Marco Rubio's Speech before the Cuban-American National Foundation

Florida House Speaker Marco Rubio recently addressed the Cuban-American National Foundation. Unfortunately, the once-great foundation de-evolved into a Democrat Party front group and an instrument of Castro appeasement as soon as its founder, the great Jorge Mas Canosa, died.

I was initially skeptical when Florida House of Representatives Marco Rubio accepted an invitation to speak at the foundation's May 23rd annual Cuban Independence Day luncheon. The keynote speaker was the so-called "Candidate of Change," Senator Barack Hussein Obama, who courageously declared he would negotiate with Castro and an assortment of other anti-American despotic dictators without precondition a few months ago.

I guess true to his nickname, the "candidate of change" then courageously changed his position on that apparently after poll results revealed he should.

Anyway, I'm certain Rubio's words didn't change the Marxist heart and soul of the "candidate of change," especially since a flash poll after Rubio's speech was unavailable.

Regardless, it took a lot of courage for Speaker Marco Rubio to give the speech he gave before an unfriendly, Castro-appeasing audience, and we here at Versailles Beat applaud and salute him. His words were a reflection of his conviction and a welcome flash of clarity in this muddled political environment we live in. I only wish Marquito was running for a higher office.

Whenever you're ready, Marco, estamos contigo!

¿Armas para qué?

Bueno caballero, today the Supreme Court affirmed our constitutional right to bear arms, which is so obvious that it's like someone affirming a goose's right to crap.

The constitution is absolutely clear about our right to bear arms, but they had to rule on a gun ban that was enacted by the the Marxist Democrats that run the District of Columbia (that's Washington, DC, for all you feeble-minded Dade County Public School alumni). Other than obviously limiting citizens' constitutional gun rights, the ban resulted in the highest murder rates in the nation. Pero ni modo...

In a November 20, 2007 Chicago Tribune Article, Obama stated that the DC Gun Ban was "constitutional." Today the court decided otherwise in a split 5-4 decision. Pero, here's the thing: What kind of justices would a President Obama have appointed? Would he have appointed someone like Thomas or Alito, or someone like Breyer or la vieja esa Ginsburg? Had Obama been a president in the past and had the opportunity to appoint a justice to the Supreme Court, today's outcome may very well have been different and our liberties severely assaulted.

I guess Obama ran a poll, since he is now distancing himself from his previous position, as the flip-flopper he is.

Obama is nothing but a weasel, and if he gets elected, he'll appoint leftists to the Supreme Court to tilt the balance over to the other side.

Florida Enacts Cuban Travel Restrictions

I am not a fan of Charlie Crist by any means (my property taxes haven't dropped "like a rock," ni mucho menos), but I must give credit where credit is due.

Charlie Crist finally signed the bill sponsored by Rep. David Rivera and Sen. Carey Baker to tighten the reins around the treasonous agencies who sell travel services to Cuba and other terrorist nations.

The bill increases licensing fees and bond requirements, making it more expensive to travel to terrorist nations. I agree with Rep. David Rivera when he says that those who come into the United States because they were politically persecuted in their homeland "have no business returning to the country which they were supposedly fleeing."

Versailles Beat salutes Governor Charlie Crist and the Florida Legislature for enacting this fine piece of legislation.

...and to those of you who will have to pay more to "chulear" in Cuba: jódanse.

Terrorist Alberto Jones wants to rewrite history

El Terrorista Alberto Jones, del CACF, is once again up to his dirty tricks. Alberto Jones is better known for helping push Castros agenda in the US. He is a Communist Accomplice of the Terrorist regime.

From today's Miami Herald:

Cuban: museum's art should be returned to Cuba
By LAURA STEWART

Alberto Jones paused in front of Daniel Serra-Badue's 1941 painting, "Cuban Sweets," and smiled.

"These are typical treats, homemade cookies with fruit in them, mostly guava," said the Palm Coast resident, a native of Cuba.

Then he turned to another painting in the Cuban Foundation Museum, at the Museum of Arts and Sciences, and frowned.

"But what about the children of Cuba, who have never seen these works - and never will," said Jones, 69, who has lived in the United States since 1980.

"My feelings are mixed. I'm proud about who we are, as Cubans, and angry because these works are here and not in Cuba, where they belong," he said. "It hurts to think they've been deprived of the opportunity to see and enjoy such marvelous arts.

"These works belong to the people of Cuba."

Yes, and no - not as long as the art is in the small museum, frozen in place half a century ago by the Cuban Revolution.

"The city is going to keep the exhibits at least until there is a more friendly government in Cuba," said the city's personnel director in 1962, after "Castro's government" requested the art's return. No official actions have happened since, and as far as museum and city officials know, Cuban officials have not called back.

The official story is on a bronze plaque at its entrance: "The Cuban Foundation Museum Collection was given generously by President Fulgencio Batista and his wife Mrs. Marta Fernandez Batista to the city and to the people of Daytona Beach in 1957," it proclaims.

But the collection didn't exist in 1957, the year the Batistas made a different gift to the city. They had lived in luxurious exile in Daytona Beach from 1945, following Batista's presidential term, until 1948, when he won a senate seat. In 1952, he seized the presidency again, in a "bloodless coup."

After 1948, the Batistas kept their home at 137 N. Halifax Ave., added an adjacent piece of property and bought a larger place for retirement, the former Olds mansion at 129 N. Halifax.

Life in Havana became more uncomfortable. Fidel Castro's revolutionary brigades began attacking Batista's regime in 1953, forcing him to live in a state of siege. He relished the welcome Daytona Beach provided on March 24, 1956: "Batista Day," with its speeches, toasts, dinners and parade - and his last visit to his Florida home.

To return the favor, Batista played host to 16 city officials, among them Mayor J.H. Long and his wife, on a 1957 Havana junket. The highlight came at 5 p.m. Oct. 28 in the Presidential Palace's Room of Mirrors, when he gave his properties at 137 and 145 N. Halifax Ave. to the city, and formalized the Cuban Foundation and its museum.

The properties, valued at $125,000, would become the museum - with renovations paid for by Batista - and Halifax Historical Society headquarters. The Cuban museum "will be maintained from the income of a $50,000 endowment fund Batista has established," The News Journal noted. And, according to Batista's local attorney, B.F. Brass, "all exhibits will be provided by the government of Cuba."

A series of exhibits "will illustrate Cuban progress in art, history, culture, science and industry. They will be kept up to date by the Cuban government," Brass said. But there was a reverter clause: If Batista's former home was used for anything but the Cuban museum, the deed became "null and void."

On June 4, 1958, two Cuban Air Force C-46 cargo planes landed at Municipal Airport. Along with workers to unload and install paintings, ceramics, photo-murals, a bust of Jose Marti, furniture, a working model of a sugar mill and other objects - everything for the museum's first exhibit -were crates that did not go to the museum. Labeled "To Senor Presidente, Fulgencio Batista," they went to his home.

When the museum opened on June 29, it showcased Cuban culture, from colonial times to 1958. Six rooms on the ground floor featured the island's sugar, tobacco, fishing, hardwood and mineral industries.

Ceramics, a library and paintings filled the second floor. On the third level were a large map of Cuba, photographs and glassware. Throughout the museum, Cuban music played from more than 100 recordings.

"One room houses works of contemporary art; another has exhibits of 18th and 19th century art; and the third, 20th century works," The News-Journal noted on Aug. 11, 1958. "In all, there are 39 paintings by some of Cuba's best-known artists.

"There are portraits of Cuban heroes, scenes from everyday life, and landscapes depicting the beauty of Florida's neighbor to the south," among them modern works that had won first-place purchase awards in Cuba's annual National Salon.

"Exhibits at the museum are to be exchanged periodically with others from the Cuban Museum in Havana," the writer noted. "No exchanges have been set yet, however."

They never would be.

At 2 a.m. on Jan. 1, 1959, recognizing that Castro's forces were closing in, Batista fled Havana on a DC-4 loaded, according to reports, with up to $700 million in cash and art. Denied entry to the United States - where Batista had lost support in part to his regime's perceived rampant corruption and brutality - the deposed dictator flew to the Dominican Republic before settling in Portugal. Batista died in 1973; Marta died in West Palm Beach in 2006.

For Tere Batista, now president of the Cuban Foundation that runs the Cuban museum, the story of the Daytona Beach collection is part of her childhood.

"I grew up hearing that the museum in Daytona Beach had come from my grandfather and his wife Marta," Tere Batista, 43, a resident of Miami, said Thursday. But those works which went on temporary loan to the Cuban Foundation Museum 50 years ago are still here, part of a legacy that decades ago became a legend that has been endlessly repeated.

It's one that fascinated Museum of Arts and Sciences director Wayne Atherholt. He studied old News-Journal clips in silence for long minutes late last week, and finally spoke.

"I'm amazed," he said. "I never knew this - what a story. And what an opportunity for possible cultural exchanges with Cuba."
Jones hopes so. "This art wasn't his," he said. "So how could Batista give it away? It belongs to the people of Cuba."

Mierda Communist is exactly how we should label Alberto Jones. He refuses to support Dr. Oscar Elias Biscet and the Cuban political prisoners

Where's the Change?

Bueno, caballero, today I read in the Miami Herald that two of Obama's closest advisers and campaign staff were directly involved with the seizing of Elián González and his subsequent return to the communist rat hole gulag that is now Cuba.

Last week, as Elías posted, it was reported that Elián has pledged his full support and allegiance to the totalitarian communist regime, thus making him yet another of the countless drones brainwashed by the diabolical tyranny. Did anyone doubt Elián would be used as a propaganda tool against the United States? Of course not. I'm sure Clinton, and the rest of his Democrat ilk knew it too, and they either didn't care or actually wanted it to happen. Their actions over the years tell me it's the latter.

As Peggy Noonan so clearly articulated:

It is interesting that [the Clinton] White House, which feared moving on Iraq during Ramadan, had no fear of moving on Americans during the holiest time of the Christian calendar ... they thought it a practical time to move. The quaint Catholics of Little Havana would be lulled into a feeling of safety; most of the country would be distracted by family get-togethers and feasts. It was, to the Clinton administration, a sensible time to break down doors.

One of the architects and accomplices of that infamy is Eric Holder, who was Janet Reno's Deputy Attorney General at the time. He is now Obama's legal advisor. Yes, LEGAL ADVISOR. How will he advise a "President Obama" on such matters? Que Dios nos libre.

Another character in the whole Elián saga was Greg Craig. He was the attorney hired by Elián's father (AKA: the communist regime through the leftist front group, the so-called National Council of Churches). This was the most visible character during the Elián saga, appearing on television interviews and even taking Juán Miguel González to a Democrat fundraiser while he was in Washington, DC awaiting permission to take Elián back to Cuba.

Greg Craig is Obama's foreign policy advisor. He was also a John Kerry campaign advisor during Kerry's failed (thank G0d) 2004 run. Where is the abhorrent Joe García in his condemnation of Obama's use of Greg Craig as an advisor?

Folks, this proves that leftist birds of a feather flock and siempre la cagan together. These Democrat dirt bags are what they are: Marxist ideologues.
  • From opposing domestic oil production to extending rights to Guantanamo detainees;
  • From their relationships with unrepentant anti-Americans both at home and abroad to their incessant desire to increase taxes;
  • From their Marxist desires to nationalize health care and American oil refineries to opposing free trade with our Colombian allies.

Obama talks about "Change," but I don't see how neither Obama nor his party have changed one bit. Through every demagogic word and position which limits liberty and harms our national and economic security, these leftist Democrats always tell you who they are by what they do. It’s almost honest.

Terrorist Group to meet in Pittsford, load supplies to the Terrorist Regime

Otros come mierda communistas, helping fidel murder more cubans. These people have no conscience.

Seems that they are paid by the Castro regime through Rev. Lucuis Walker.

Accoring to the Democrat and Chronicle

Group to meet in Pittsford, load supplies for Cuba

Members of the Rochester Committee on Latin America will gather at 4 p.m. Friday at the Pittsford home of Peter and Gail Mott, 57 S. Main St., to load a truck with medicines, wheelchairs, educational supplies and other equipment to send to Cuba. The truck will be part of 14 caravans from other areas that will carry supplies for Cuba. Manolo De Los Santos, an assistant caravan coordinator, is scheduled to address the Pittsford volunteers. The effort is part of the Pastors for Peace Friendshipment to Cuba. ROCLA advocates against the U.S. Administration’s ban on humanitarian aid and travel to Cuba

Peter and Gail Mott are accomplices of the Terrorist Regime, they turn their backs to political prisoners like Dr. Oscar Elias Biscet. They do this for a quick profit from the regime.

El Nuevo Herald : Alejandro Armengol

Alejandro Armengol nacio en Cuba, pero he attackes Cuban-Americans on a daily basis.

Alejandro Armengol lives in the US, but refuses to support Dr. Oscar Elias Biscet.

Alejandro Armengol is unfortunately an advocate of the Castro Regime. He refuses to talk about Cuba's Terrorist connection, he refuses to talk about Dr. Oscar Elias Biscet and all the 300 political prisoners, etc...

Some wonder why did Armengol come to the US? Some speculate he is a Castro goon. I wonder why the Herald hires these hacks? It's a joke...just like Ana menendez

Armengols collegue Janet Comellas , she is a former anti-American reporter from the terrorist newspaper "Granma" now she is a writer for the Miami Herald. (And the herald says their isnt a bias against Cuban-Americans). Makes you wonder

Armengol is another pawn in the anti-Cuban American game. Let's all email him and ask to write about Dr. Oscar Elias Biscet, or the Human rights abuses in Cuban, or the why Cuba is a Terrorist nation, he will refuse. He will only write articles that bash Cuban-Americans.

Armengol is Anti-American and hates succesful Cuban-Americans.

Chusmería en Tallahassee

La despreciable Silvia Wilhelm, directora del Castro Front Group Cuban-American Commission on Family Rights, dragged a gaggle of 100 useful idiot Cubans to protest a bill by Cuban patriot Rep. David Rivera.

Aparently, the rafter "aceres" that were brought to Tallahassee by la comunistoide Silvia Wilhelm don't approve of travel agencies that sell trips to Cuba having to obatin a bond of $300,000 when selling trips to terrorist countries, of which Cuba is one. Obviously, this would make it a little more expensive to travel to Cuba should this bill become law.
¡Pobresitos!

As far as I'm concerned, I have no pity for anyone who flees their country and claims political asylum based on political persecution, and then turns around and visits that same persecuting country they fled. Can you imagine an East Berliner who risked his life jumping over the wall returning a year later to visit? Besides, the Cubans who came here when I first came way back left Cuba knowing full well they may never be able to see Cuba or their family members again, and many died without being able to. Today's means of communications allow people to stay connected, and we didn't have that back then. In fact, I didn't communicate with my family members for almost 5 years after I got here.

If they have to visit their family members because someone is dying, that's one thing, but I have no pity for any one of these idiots who go to Cuba to show off their new Nike shoes and their pictures with sports cars that they don't own.

Gracias Bill Clinton : Elian Gonzalez is now Communist Scum

Que cosa, ahora Eliansito es un communista. Did anyone ever doubt this?

Unfortunately now his is an accomplice of the Terrorist Regime.

This aricle is from today's bbc news:

Elian Gonzalez, the Cuban boy at the centre of an international custody battle eight years ago, has reportedly joined Cuba's Young Communist Union.
He was quoted by Communist youth newspaper Juventud Rebelde as saying he will never let down ex-President Fidel Castro and his brother Raul.
Elian, now 14, was six when relatives in Miami lost their battle to keep him in the US.
He was returned to Cuba in mid-2000 with his father.
Juventud Rebelde said in its Sunday edition the boy was among 18,000 people who joined the Young Communist Union on Saturday.
Elian was found floating alone in the Florida Straits in late 1999, one of the few survivors from a group of shipwrecked Cubans who had tried to reach the US in a handmade boat.
His mother was among those who died when the fragile craft hit a storm.
A bitter custody battle ensued between his relatives in Miami, backed by the anti-Castro Cuban American community there, and his father, supported by the Cuban government.
The US courts got involved, eventually ruling in favour of Elian's father and the boy was returned to Cuba.
Correspondents say the Cuban government carefully guards Elian's privacy.

His father miguel has all the blame in the world. He was a coward and never cared for his son. In cuba you dont raise your children, the government is your father.

Seems that the international community turns a bling eye to these abuses.

The video is disturbing.

ASK PEPE - Brujeros, Psiquicos and Babalaos OH MY!

Hola Caballero,

Cheo and Elías asked me to post one of my "Ask Pepe" advice columns para refrescar el ambiente político un poco. See, I have an advice column on myspace where members can send me questions about anything, whether it be personal advice, questions about life, or just asking my opinion. The one below was one of my first columns. I think you will enjoy it. Take note, however, that all my advice is true and to the point!

Y con eso dicho, los dejo con mi "Dear Pepe" column titled "Brujeros, Psiquicos and Babalaos OH MY!"

Dear Pepe:

Ok. I don't understand why Cuban women go to psychics para que le lean las cartas or whatever other method there is. I know some women that swear they'll have something happen soon because el brujo o la bruja told them so. What is your opinion on this Afro-Cuban pass-time?
Sincerely,

La Cubanita del Norte

Dear Cubanita:

My advice is, don't fall for any of that shit. If you need advice, come to Pepe.

Sincerely,

Pepe

En el mar la vida es mas sabrosa... pero mas cara.

Un civics lesson for those who don't know:

The United States does not have three branches of government; it has four: The Executive, Legislative, Judicial, AND the bureaucracy.

Ustedes sabían que the Federal Agencies (the bureaucracy) is able to promulgate "rules" that have the force and effect of laws? Well, they do, and they exercise their power often.

Today, the Herald reported how the National Marine Fisheries Service wants enact a rule requiring sports fishermen to register and be licensed to fish in Federal waters. This is ANOTHER tax, and ANOTHER way for the government to steal your money.

It's not enough that they tax our income, our gasoline, our purchases, our booze, our properties, and just about everything they can think of. The little money we have left we like to use for leisure, such as fishing, AND NOW THEY WANT TO TAX THAT TOO!

Call your inept congressmen and see if they can do something about it. Hopefully they won't be as worthless as we all think they are.

You can also call that agency and complain to them. You must do this by August 11. They probably won't care three cucumbers, pero whatever. Date el gusto de mandarlos a donde se merecen ir.

El Communista Terrorista Francisco Aruca

Tode el mundo sabe que Aruca es un communista pagado por Fidel Castro. Pero, not many of us know why he switched from his anti-revolutionary stance (Proganda director for the Movimiento Revolucionario del Pueblo) to a paid mouthpiece for Fidel Castro.

Well we have the answer here at "Versailles Beat", you can call this BREAKING NEWS.

He was arrested on January 5, 1961, and charged with counterrevolutionary activities, tried ten days later, found guilty, and sentenced to 30 years. Aruca was sent to Havana's La Cabana prison. But the BREAKING NEWS is the following:

Aruca and his companions were apprehended by the Communist police, all of Aruca's companions were shot dead but he was spared and sent to prison at La Cabana fortress under the command of Che Guevera.

While his friends were being shot, Aruca begged to be spared and promised the Communist police "information on other anti-revolutionary groups". He was a snitch and coward.

During his stay at "La Cabana" Aruca was training in espionage and taught how to infiltrate the Airwaves in Miami. He was promised all the money he needs to "Divide" the Cuban-American Community. Castro has provided information, protection, and many more resources to aruca.

Accoring to several accounts:

Since he was small and looked younger than 20 he was able to sneak out one day from prison pretending to be a visitor. He made his way to the Brazilian embassy and asked for asylum. He spent eighteen months there, until he was able to obtain a safe-conduct pass from the Cuban government.

This is not true. Aruca was allowed to leave as part of Castro's plan. It was a perfect plan, an anti-revolutionary leader who saw all his friends die infront of his eyes, how can anyone think he was a castro spy?

Now we all know the outcome of all of this.

Also who cant forget the outting of Arucas and Marazuls connection to Habana.

Remember this:

JESUS RAUL PEREZ MENDEZ, chief of the Department of the Community Abroad of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) and captain of the Cuban Directorate General of Intelligence (DGI) defected on Julu 13, 1983, and informed the following:

The BAM is controlled by JESUS ARBOLEYA CERVERA, of the DGI in Cuba and former second secretary of the Cuban Mission in NYC, by way of FRANCISCO GONZALEZ ARUCA in Washington, D.C.

The BAM is financed by travel agencies in NYC and receive from $100 to $400 for each exile that travels to Cuba. MARAZUL was established to finance the BAM, AREITO, and the CIRCULO DE CULTURA CUBANA, the BAM receiving the majority of the funds. The daily activities of MARAZUL are controlled by FRANCISCO GONZALEZ ARUCA from Washington, D.C., who is controlled by JESUS ARBOLEYA CERVERA from Havana

Vaya, Aruca should be arrested for treason and complicity with a terrorist regime.

Gasolina a $4/galón? Blame the Democrats...

Here's an article I ran across today que explica como los Demócratas siempre se han opuesto a cualquier acción que nos permita reducir el costo de energía (en mi opinión, para joder a la economía de éste país por las razones que yo presenté en mi último blog).
Pero anyway, I find the Democrats' obstructionism borderline treasonous, and I feel that the American people should be aware of what's going on.

Here's the article para que uds. se enojen tanto como yo:

Newt Gingrich is pushing his Drill Here. Drill Now. solution as gas prices go up.

It is a great idea. Along those lines, here is some information that really reflects the differences between the Republicans and Democrats in the U.S. House -- and why winning back the House is important.

In a breakdown of top energy issues, you'll find the GOP is in favor of more options for energy than the Democrats.

ANWR (Arctic National Wildlife Reserve) Exploration
House Republicans: 91% Supported
House Democrats: 86% Opposed

Coal-to-Liquid
House Republicans: 97% Supported
House Democrats: 78% Opposed

Oil Shale Exploration
House Republicans: 90% Supported
House Democrats: 86% Opposed

Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Exploration
House Republicans: 81% Supported
House Democrats: 83% Opposed

Refinery Increased Capacity
House Republicans: 97% Supported
House Democrats: 96% Opposed

That's startling information. Look at that again. Put another way, the Republicans are opposed to grinding our economy to a halt due to soaring energy costs and the Democrats are in favor of shutting down our economy and way of life.

Why are the Democrats so in favor of shutting down the American economy? Because they've become wedded to an entrenched group of radical environmentalists who see the United States as the greatest threat to the earth.

The Democrats want the United States to fall behind because they see it as the only real way to, as Barack Obama said, let the earth "heal" and "the oceans … recede." The only way to save the planet is to humble America, apparently.

No wonder so many radicals and terrorists like Obama. The whole party is eaten up with anti-American sentiments.

El Nuevo Herald :La UE y EEUU pedirán la liberación inmediata de todos los prisioneros políticos cubanos

Buenos Dias hermanos y hermanas, great read from today's El Nuevo Herald:

Welcome our special contributing bloguero: Pepe Peña

Quiero darle la bienvenida a un patriota, un luchador por la libertad y la democracia, y a mi gran amigo, Pepe Peña.

Elias and I took notice of Pepe's blog, which he has had for a few years on his myspace page. He has an advice column for myspace users and will randomly blog about whatever he has on his mind. He is very witty, articulate, but most importantly a great advocate for liberty. You can see some of his past blogs by clicking here. His last blog was about global warming, and it's a real gem. I've posted it below for your reading pleasure.

Why, you may ask, am I blaming this elite group of crap? This is why:

This country hasn't built an oil refinery in 30 years. Why? Because the environmentalist hijos de puta make it so difficult for anyone to build or expand an existing one, that companies have just given up on doing so. Imagínate que vayas a un pueblo que necesita una gasolinera y se te ocurre montar una gasolinera porque no solo sería buen negocio para ti, sinó para los ciudadanos del pueblo que no tendrían que manejar lejos para comprar gasolina. So you take out the permits to build the gas station y un grupito de miserables en el pueblo sue you over and over until you just decide to say to hell with it y no pones ni carajo. That's what the environmentalists do when someone tries to build or expand an oil refinery.

The same thing goes for nuclear power plants, which happen to produce ZERO pollution: when someone tries to build a nuclear power plant, which hasn't been done in over 30 years in this country, the environmentalist sapingos sue the hell out of the power company trying to build it until they decide to scrap the plan. That, ladies and gentlemen, is the environmentalist left in this country supported by the Democrat Party and idiotic liberal Republicans, who have passed laws that ALLOW these small environmental wacko groups to sue on OUR behalf. Yes, the law allows these groups to sue on OUR behalf, which is why they sue over and over again. Instead, we use expensive (and "un-green") oil to fuel our power plants instead of nuclear, which we can produce and is also a lot cleaner.

Mis queridos amiguitos, I want you to know something. This country has larger oil reserves than the entire middle east. We have oil reserves in the Gulf of Mexico, Alaska, and several places in between that are larger than those in the middle east. Diganme una cosa: what other country that is sitting on such oil reserves would allow those resources to go untapped? You bet they would!

We have oil drilling technology that makes oil spills all but impossible these days, so don't give me the crap that we shouldn't drill for oil because it may cause an oil spill. When was the last time there was an oil spill from a rig out in the gulf off the coast of Louisiana? What a bunch of schmucks we are, and all because of the liberals in this country who use the power of government, regulations and bureaucracy to prevent the private sector from providing for our fellow citizens through the free market system.

"¿Pero Pepe, y que tal el tema de Global Warming? Shouldn't we do something to stop Global Warming?"

Do you know what the biggest producer of carbón dioxide is in the world? It's not airplanes, cars, or cow farts (yes, I said cow farts, which is why most rabid environmentalists want to make vegetarians out of all of us because they say cow farts—methane—is one of the largest greenhouse gas producers). The biggest CO2 producer in the world are TREES. Yes, TREES. ¿Uds. saben porqué? Porque cuando las hojitas se caen de los arboles y se mueren, el proceso químico de descomposición produce CO2. Another reason global warming is total bullshit is because scientists have taken ice samples from the ice caps por ahi arriba donde vive Santi Clos, and they have determined that there have been times in earth's history hundreds and thousands of years ago that the planet was several degrees warmer than it is now and several degrees cooler than it is now. This is to say, my friends, that global temperatures are cyclical. Es decir, las temperaturas del planeta suben y bajan y no tienen nada que ver con los carros y aviones y todo eso.

Pero ahora les voy a explicar el porqué el tema de global warming es tan importante para los liberales, la izquierda y los comunistoides.

Global warming creates an excuse for government to step in and regulate business, industry, and even the habits of citizens.

An economically weak America allows them to gain power because when people are jobless or can't afford basic things, their answer is more government intervention, which in turn causes people to depend more and more on the government. This means more power for them. When someone has to depend on you for something, you automatically have power over them, verdad? Well, it's the same thing when it comes to government. They are using this global warming scam as an excuse to restrain the free market, limit growth and thus slow down the economy. The left claims to want to help the "working class" and the "middle class," but it's those two classes that are suffering most from their bullshit.

This ethanol movement is nothing but a sham. It takes more energy to create ethanol than the energy the ethanol itself puts out. Did you know that? Did you know that the price of food has skyrocketed because the government is subsidizing farmers who produce corn for ethanol? Eso quiere decir que si tú tienes una finca que produce arroz, por ejemplo, a ti te conviene más dejar de producir arroz and instead producir maíz para etanol porque te pagan más por el maíz que por el arroz.

So what we have is a situation where we are using land that was meant to grow our food to instead "grow" fuel. This is why we have food shortages and the cost of food has skyrocketed (see article below). Everything from dairy and meat (because cow and chicken feed is made from corn, which is now being used for ethanol instead of food), to grains and rice (which were grown on lands that are now growing corn because they can sell the corn at a higher price for ethanol use).

Unless the government gets its hands out of the private sector and these leftist environmental front groups are crushed, we are going to have a situation where the cost of everything will skyrocket even further, the economy will further slow down, and we will have millions of unemployed citizens in this country that the government will expand itself to "help." Sadly, most Democrat officials, all three presidential candidates and even some so-called Republicans such as governors Charlie Crist y el otro comemierda de California Arnold Schwarzenwhatever buy into this environmental global warming mierda de toro.

Lets go Marlins!

Atras de leer sobre los marlins entre en blogger.com. Y ago un search para ver otro blogs sobre Cuba.

Me encontre http://cubajournal.blogspot.com/. At first glance you would think its an anti-Castro blog. It turns out that the blog is owned por un Fidelista.

According to the profile his name is Jorge Gonzalez. He states the following:
About Me
I am a Cuban-American who opposes the current US foreign policy toward Cuba. We need dialogue, reconciliation and the re-establishment of normal diplomatic relations with Cuba. We do not need US sponsored confrontation.
Que cosa???? Reconciliation with a terrorist? A sworn enemy of the United States who has murdered hundreds of thousand's of Cuban's? And after all this Jorge Gonzalez wants to reconcile with Fidel Castro and abandon the Cuban people and political prisoners like Dr. Oscar Elias Biscet. This is absurd and irresponsible.

Also according to his profile his favorite song is :Nathalie Cardone's "Hasta Siempre Comandante Che Guevara". Mr. Gonzalez you state you are a Cuban-American. So why would you choose as your favorite song, a song that praises someone who murdered hundred's of thousand's of your fellow countrymen. Che Guevara was nothing but a coward, who right before he died stated "Please dont kill me, I am worth more alive than dead".

To make matters worst, according to his profile, his favorite book was written by the Terrorist and killer himself: Fidel Castro "History will absolve me". Any intelligent human being knows fidel castro is a murderer, tyrant, terrorist ..etc.... I hope you dont believe what fidel castro wrote in his book is true...agains no intelligent person would believe the tyrant.

Que cosa mas triste when a fellow Cuban-American turns his back on freedom.
There really isnt any logical explanation as to why Mr. Gonzalez thinks like this, conjo no rational human being would follow this train of thought.

Either A) he is a communist who left Cuba because he couldnt get enough to eat, and now he thrives in freedom(capitalism), but he is still a communist/fidelista like Francisco Aruca.
B) he is just an a irrational human being who wants to give the impression that he is a "rebel" of some sort.
C) Looks like he doesnt care much for political prisoners, the enslaved cuban people, human rights, civil rights, etc...etc...I can go on for hours....maybe Mr. Gonzalez's only reads the granma and no other source of information. who knows?
This doesnt make any sense.

Nosotros at Versailles Beat ask Mr. Gonzalez to give up his irrational/irresponsible stance on Cuba and embrace Dr. Oscar Elias Biscet's 10 Declaration of Principles.
If Mr. Gonzalez refuses to embrace Dr. Oscar Elias Biscet's 10 Declaration of Principles, then Cheo and I challenge him to a debate on the blogs about Biscet's 10 Declaration of Principles.

Also Mr. Gonzalez please visit http://ctp.iccas.miami.edu/FOCUS_Web/Issue57.htm

We look forward to hearing from you

¡Adios Hilaria, Compañera de mi Vida!

Well, mis queridos amigos, Hillary finally succumbed to pressure from the media and her own party, and quite frankly, to reality by formally dropping out of the race today. Era hora ya. She is by no means santa de me devoción or someone that I sympathize with in the least, but I do give her credit for having some spunk in the last few months of her campaign and sticking with it despite lack of money, a disloyal party machine, and a hostile media, the latter of which was a very intriguing turn of events.

It was fascinating to watch how the liberal media, once the stalwarts of Clintonism, turned its back on Hillary and shifted its allegiance to Obama. I used to think La babosería and the complicity that they had with the Clintons was sickening, until I saw how they have been and will continue to be with Obama. I'm sure Bill and Hillary were similarly shocked, although I find it to be poetic justice, in a sense.

The reason for the media's newfound love affair with Obama is quite simple, really. Obama is more radical in his liberalism (see: "marxism") than Hillary. He is more ideologically extreme. Now, I don't doubt for one second that their philosophies and worldviews are almost identical (well, maybe except for the racist Black Liberation Theology crap that Obama believes), but Hillary's beliefs are packaged in a more sophisticated way, while Obama es un poco mas torpe en su forma de pensar y actuar.

Unlike Obama, Hillary doesn't have decades-long relationships with known anti-American leftist extremists, including an unrepentant terrorist (Bill Ayers), and doesn't attend a church whose pastor is a raving anti-semitic and racist lunatic. Hillary is more pragmatic in her liberalism, while Obama is a liberal zealot.

Word around El Versailles is that people are worried about Obama. They feel that if he becomes president, we'd have the Castro brothers visiting the White House before the end of his first term. I think that may be a little exagerado, but is it? It was Obama who said he'd meet personally meet with Castro without precondition.

This is an idea that I not only reject, but condemn. We have countless dissidents rotting in Cuban gulags, including Dr. Oscar Elias Biscet, a man of color, and this Obama wants to meet with Castro without precondition? This Obama always talks about the so-called march in Selma, invokes countless references to the civil rights movement, yet he probably doesn't even know the name of the black dissident Dr. Biscet. The United Nations, the European Union and countless international organizations have met with the despots who run Cuba, Iran and North Korea, and their diplomatic efforts have proved worthless. But Barack Obama believes he can somehow singlehandedly make a better case to the tyrants.

Obama is very quick to demand that the United States close down Guantanamo and allow those terrorist savages onto American soil so all the rights and constitutional protections we enjoy could be extended to those rats, allowing every contemptible marxist ACLU lawyer access to them to clog our courts, but he won't so much as demand that Dr. Biscet and the hundreds of other dissidents be released as precondition for a meeting with Castro. He believes he may actually somehow open the tyrant's eyes after 50 years of brutal rule because he, Barack Hussein Obama, can singlehandedly make Fidel and Raul see the error of their ways. This is naive, it will grant the bastard regime in Cuba legitimacy, and I believe would forever damage what we, El Exilio Cubano, have fought so hard for after all these years. Bush was right in calling it a policy of appeasement, which has been discredited repeatedly by history.

McCain no es santo de mi devocion tampoco. Ese es otro que quiere traer a los terroristas aqui y cerrar Guantanamo, and buys into all that global warming crap, but at least he would never share a table with the likes of Fidel & Raul Castro, Kim Jung-il, or the Islamofascists running Iran without at least requiring them to meet concrete, tangible preconditions.

Obama, on the other hand, would meet with them without precondition, and would do so enthusiastically. Why? Because he's promised to do so, and leftists are very good at keeping promises that undermine American interests.

Castro Accomplices

Esta manana me tome una collada con Cheo. Of course, en el Versailles.

We discussed something interesting that el nieto mio, josesito, discovered on youtube.

Que jodedor es jose, but this time I was shocked at what he discovered. Jose dice que he typed "Cuba Caravan" into a youtube search. Pensando que un "Cuban Party" video would pop up.

What josesito discovered was saddening and disgusting.
This video disturbed me, how can someone praise a terrorist and murderer (Fidel Castro).
Pastors for Peace is a Marxist Organization that has directly assisted in the enslavement of the Cuban people.

The head of the Interreligious Foundation for Community Organization (IFCO) and Pastors for Peace, the Rev. Lucious Walker, on the75th anniversary of the Communist Party of the U.S., when, following his congratulations to the Party, he stated his vision to help Fidel Castro: "We will win on this issue because of you and because of people around this country who know that the time has come for a new relationship, for a new model in the world, and that model is Cuba." (Peoples Weekly World, Nov. 19, 1996)

It is clear that their efforts are to help the multimillionaire Fidel Castro, and not the enslaved Cuban people.

The saddest thing of all is that Rev. Lucius Walker refuses to support Dr. Oscar Elias Biscet, a black political prisoners.

Rev. Lucius Walker broke US laws on several occasions. He travels to Cuba regularly and has direct business ties with Cuba.(State Sponor of Terrorism)

Cheo and I believe the pastors for peace and IFCO should be tried in a US Court for their crimes against humanity. This video clearly incriminates them with aiding a terrorist regime, they are paid puppets of the Murderer, Fidel Castro.

Thank you josesito , eres el nieto mejor del exilio.

Dr. Oscar Elias Biscet

The Versailles Beat is proud to announce it's support for the Declaration of Principles by Dr. Oscar Elias Biscet

1. We demand the unconditional freedom of the people of Cuba under a multiparty system of government democratically elected at all levels and with complete guarantee of freedom of expression for all, including the government's detachment from the country’s media.

2. The repeal of the illegitimate communist constitution of 1976 and the establishment of a Sovereign Constitutional Assembly to draw amendments to the Democratic Constitution of 1940, including the absolute adhesion to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of the United Nations and the abolition of the death penalty. These amendments should be ratified by the elected representatives.

3. The establishment of a state based on the rule of law that will guarantee equality to all citizens before the law, without discrimination based on race, sex, ethnic group, or religious beliefs and which will end the system of oppression and apartheid established under the communist regime.

4. The dissolution of all political, propagandistic, and repressive organizations created by the communist regime since January, 1959, with a renewed emphasis on the development of independent civic institutions that will forge democracy for the new society.

5. Unconditional and immediate amnesty for all political prisoners.

6. Free access to Cubans and their children, who live outside the country, to enter and cave the country at will, and enjoy the same citizenship rights as those who live inside the Country.

7. The commitment to fund a first-rate free educational system, without political orientation as well as a basic health system that can be afforded by the poorest ones.

8. The recognition of private property and free enterprise as the main pillars for boosting the country's well-being along with a guarantee to workers of their right to organize independent labor unions that will promote their collective interests.

9. The restructuring of the armed forces and ensuring its strict separation from the economic and political activities and responsibilities of the country.

10. Once democracy has been established, lobby for the lifting of the United States commercial embargo and for the opening to foreign economic aid until Cuba can establish a basis for its economic recovery.

Wecome to Versailles Beat!

Elías and I decided to start this blog after we met at Versailles the day we chased away the Code Pinko communist front group protestors. He and I go to Versailles often to talk about Cuba, local and national politics, and political gossip.

My grandson Javi taught me how to use the computer and the internet, and because I know that Elías has had to learn to use it for his business, I told him we should start a blog about what we talk about daily to maybe reach out to more people.

So you know about me, my name is Jose Luis Valdés, but everyone calls me "Cheo" or "El Gallo." They call me "El Gallo" because my wife and I had three daughters and people said my house was like a chicken coop. Anyway, I left Cuba no thanks to Fidel and established a small plant business which grew over the years into a successful nursery. I sold it a few years ago and now devote myself to politics and living off my children's inheritance (que se jodan-I worked for it!)

As for Elías, he comes from a long line of tabacaleros. His family owned a sizable piece of land down in Oriente when Castro and his bearded thugs came and took it away from him. He left Cuba and settled in Ybor City to roll cigars for some old Cuban business up there and eventually settled in Miami where he opened a cigar shop in Little Havana. His kids now run the business, but he does cigar rolling on the side for parties and other events. He sometimes writes for a community periodiquito that you may find the entrance to the Versailles bakery and other Cuban restaurants in Little Havana.

In conclusion, and on a more serious note, we are only but two fictional, albeit realistic accounts among millions of similar but true stories in the long, arduous book that is the Cuban Exile Experience. That experience came about due to a leftist tyranny that destroyed a country, thrust an advanced, cosmopolitan society into the pits of poverty, divided hundreds of thousands of families, ended countless lives, decimated a culture, and displaced and ruined millions.

This is what happens when a society surrenders its liberty. In Cuba, it happened suddenly, and in other places perhaps more gradually. Regardless, the void liberty leaves behind is always filled by tyranny. And make no mistake about it, you don't necessarily need a tyrant to live in tyranny.

Our aim is to promote liberty and freedom in Cuba and to rein-in the erosion of our liberty here at home by speaking out against policies and ideologies that seek to limit capitalism, the free market, and personal liberties. As such, we may discuss anything from Cuban politics and local political gossip, to national and international issues to advance the cause of liberty in a witty, entertaining, and educational manner.

Aún estamos bajo construcción, and we will also have some special guest columnists contributing to this blog, so visit often!
